Activities at Juniper House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Juniper House Care Home

Gardening Club

Our gardening club have been busy here at Juniper House. We planted some sunflower seeds a little while back, this month we brought them out of the greenhouse an re-potted them into some plant pots. You will see the sunflowers around the home. We can’t wait for them to flower!

Cream Tea at the Garden Centre

Some of our lovely ladies enjoyed going out on our mini bus to the Bell Plantation Garden Centre. Before finding a table in the garden centre Café to enjoy a delicious cream tea they enjoyed having a look around at the beautiful plants and flowers in the shop to get some inspiration for our gardens here at Juniper house.

Easter Celebrations

We were busy celebrating Easter throughout the start of April! Easter is an important time to all, lots of time spent with loved ones and lots of time eating chocolate! Our residents were busy getting creative undertaking Easter themed arts and crafts and baking some Chocolate nest Easter cakes to share. We also had a visit from Fiona Harrison, who performed her ‘Easter Bonnet’ Easter themed live show. It was lovely to reminisce and have a dance to her wonderful choice of songs.

A Visit from Zoolab!

On the 3rd of April, we had the amazing ZooLab visit us here at Juniper House, with a great selection of interesting animals.

We got up close and personal with: a Gerbil, a Madagascan hissing cockroach, a Australian tree frog, a American corn snake, a Tortoise and a tarantula!

It was a chance to have a look at, touch and learn about the different animals and creepy crawlies. Staff and Residents all had fun this afternoon.

'Highly Commended' Care Home Award

Here at Juniper House, we are so proud to have been awarded 'Highly Commended Care Home' at The National Care Home Awards. This is all thanks to our amazing team and friends at Juniper House. A huge 'Thank You' to each and every one!

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

During the national week of morning residents reflected, reminisced and residents had an outing to Brackley Park to lay their floral tributes for HM Queen Elizabeth. Messages of thanks & poems were written to celebrate her life and give thanks for her dedicated service for the country and commonwealth.
