Activities at Juniper House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Juniper House Care Home

Outing to Chacombe Park Care Home
It was great to see our friends at Chacombe Park Care Home this month. We boarded the mini bus and drove the lovely country route to Banbury to have a nice afternoon with our friends that we often see at the Dementia Community Choir. Two of our residents loved driving past the village they used to live in. Next time we plan to meet up with Chacombe Park, they are visiting us for some tea and cake.

Open Day
Our open day was a wonderful success! We opened our doors to the community to showcase our home. We loved meeting new people and showing them around our home.
We held a Coffee Morning where everyone enjoyed socialising over a cup of tea and some delicious cakes hand made by the kitchen team.

Country and western party - Yeehaaa!
This month we celebrated all things American with a country and western party. The charismatic Steve Carmel performed his country music show, the kitchen team made wonderful American food and of course everyone had there cowboy hats on!

Weekly bingo game
Concentration faces on and dabbers ready as everyone enjoys some friendly competition at an old time favourite, bingo. Residents enjoy keeping their brains active and of course winning some prizes is always a thrill.
We play bingo once a week and it’s definitely something our residents look forward too.

Baking Sessions
Tom’s ‘Resident of the day’ wish was to make his very own Romanian Apple and Walnut Cake recipe once again.
So we popped on our chef hats and Tom taught us how to make the cake during a baking session.
The cake went down a treat and it has sparked Tom’s love for baking once again.

Shire Horses
We were treated to a visit from two beautiful shire horses. Animals have a wonderful calming effect and the residents love to stroke them, talk to them and play with them. And of course feed them!
The home was visited by Sam’s Pet Services who caused a great deal of excitement. All of the residents enjoyed the visit, they petted and fed the two horses, Ruby and Dolly, who seemed to appreciate meeting their new friends.
