Activities at Kenwyn Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Chloe Alcock
Chloe loves bringing creativity into our home and making our residents smile. Whether she's engaging residents with her artistic flair or simply brightening their day, Chloe is always finding ways to connect with those around her.
When she’s not at work, you’ll find her cozy under her favourite blanket with a cup of tea, crocheting or playing video games.
Chloe has a passion for animal care which led her to volunteer at Shepreth Wildlife Park, where she worked with red pandas, lemurs, and coatis. She’s also an award-winning artist, having earned the Royston Art Society’s Young Artist Award, and studied Game Art at Falmouth University, She brings a wealth of creativity and skills to our residents.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Kenwyn Care Home

Greg Watts returns to Kenwyn
Our regular entertainer, Greg, was back again this week for another afternoon of fun! The room was filled with the sweet sound of nostalgia as our lovely residents sang along to timeless classics, reminiscing about cherished memories tied to these beloved songs. A special day was had by all!

Kenwyn's Birthdays
What else are Birthdays for if it’s not CAKE?!
At Kenwyn we are constantly celebrating Birthdays - last week we had 4 in a day!
Our Chef is always baking cake and our residents take their role seriously by playing their part and eating it!
Here you can see lovely resident Colin celebrating his 85th Birthday and sharing his beautiful cake.

Duane AJ Music performs a fantastic set at Kenwyn
One of Kenwyn’s stand out favourite performers came back to sing for us today - Duane AJ music.
Duane AJ doesn’t just bring music, he has the audience enwrapped with his entire performance.
He is full of energy and fun and we all love it when he’s here and he shows that music has a way of reaching people that is really quite magical.
We are already looking forward to next time!

Lollipops in the garden
Ahead of the rainy weather, we made sure to take advantage of the sunshine last week in our beautiful gardens. The residents thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon out on the patio with music, lollipops and good chat!

St Mary's Primary School pay Kenwyn a special visit
Despite the unusually dull Cornish weather, today our hearts were truly warmed when we welcomed St Marys Primary Schools year 4 students.
Singing beautiful Sea Shanty songs to a full house at Kenwyn, we all loved this visit.
The wonderful class of year four Students, had spent some time baking Scones for our residents which they served to them with Raspberry Jam, whilst introducing themselves.
Our residents loved it, we all did and one even said ‘There’s nothing I have enjoyed watching more!’ So wonderful seeing the years between generations melt away.

A special invitation
We received a very special invitation at Kenwyn this week. Our sister home Falmouth Court Care Home - Barchester Healthcare were hosting a Garden Party to celebrate their recent rating of ‘Good’ from CQC, and asked us to attend.
We once again boarded Kenwyn’s mini bus - on another beautiful summers day - and headed off to Falmouth.
We were treated to entertainment, strawberries and cream and Pimm’s, and Haley, Falmouth Courts Manager, gave a wonderful speech, which we all toasted. There was even time to sing Hugh a ‘Happy Birthday.’
Such a wonderful afternoon that we all thoroughly enjoyed.
