Activities at Kings Park Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Claudia Canosa

Activities Lead

Claudia moved to the UK from her native South Africa with her family some 6 years ago, although her family are of Italian decent.

With a caring nature, Claudia worked for a domiciliary care company helping in people in the community before eventually working in a care home environment, working up to the role of Senior Carer.

Realising how much she enjoyed making the residents smile, Claudia has now stepped into the role of Activities Lead here at Kings Park and very much loves the interaction with our residents, who have all taken a real shine to her.

Claudia can regularly be seen with our residents in a very creative capacity, enjoying flower arranging or leading everyone in a game of good old fashioned Bingo!

When at home, Claudia is a mother to two boys and a girl and also a pet mum to the the gorgeous, Molly - a Jack Russell cross.

She loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa in front of a good rom/com, with:  The Holiday, The Lakehouse and The Notebook as some of her favourites to date.

We are so happy to have her as part of the Kings Park team.

We hope you have a fantastic evening and enjoy the well-deserved recognition for all the support you have given us here at Kings Park!

Congratulations Sohail!

Our General Manager, Rachel, was thrilled to present Senior General Manager Sohail with a little surprise upon him being presented with the Barchester Healthcare’s ‘General Manager of the Year’ award at our recent National Awards!

Well done Sohail, truly deserved and we do love it when you come to visit us all at Kings Park!

Happy Birthday Brenda!

Oh my! Soooo many gorgeous flowers arrived for Brenda’s birthday, we could have been in competition with The Eden Project!

Our Chef made a special Birthday cake that we all (ahem) rather enjoyed!

Happy Birthday Brenda, it was lovely to celebrate with you!

Customer Experience Week at Kings Park

As part of ‘Customer Experience Week’, our Support Managers across Barchester all visited a home to say ‘hello’ to residents and the team and to get stuck into life in the home!

We were very thankful for Priscilla, our Divisional Hospitality Manager, who came and helped out our new Head Housekeeper, Claire, for a day. Residents also enjoyed meeting Priscilla.

Thank you very much!

Happy Birthday to Eric and….to us!

What a wonderful afternoon to celebrate two birthdays! We enjoyed a lovely buffet, live music from Retro Rita and not only one but two fabulous homemade cakes by our Chef, Wyn.

It was fabulous to be able to welcome families, friends, previous respite residents and people from our local community - thank you All for coming along!

Our Home Services Advisor, Lucy, was hoping to sing but Rita had already been warned about handing over the microphone!

Happy Birthday Eric and to Kings Park!

West Moors Community Café Going Strong!

We had another busy Community Cafe in West Moors this September and thank you to everyone who attended.

It’s so lovely having the opportunity to have a cuppa and cake with members of the community and we even got to wish and sing Happy Birthday to Linda and Rowena!

Thank you to everyone who came along - the next cafe will be on the 26th October. All are welcome!
