Activities at Kings Park Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Claudia Canosa

Activities Lead

Claudia moved to the UK from her native South Africa with her family some 6 years ago, although her family are of Italian decent.

With a caring nature, Claudia worked for a domiciliary care company helping in people in the community before eventually working in a care home environment, working up to the role of Senior Carer.

Realising how much she enjoyed making the residents smile, Claudia has now stepped into the role of Activities Lead here at Kings Park and very much loves the interaction with our residents, who have all taken a real shine to her.

Claudia can regularly be seen with our residents in a very creative capacity, enjoying flower arranging or leading everyone in a game of good old fashioned Bingo!

When at home, Claudia is a mother to two boys and a girl and also a pet mum to the the gorgeous, Molly - a Jack Russell cross.

She loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa in front of a good rom/com, with:  The Holiday, The Lakehouse and The Notebook as some of her favourites to date.

We are so happy to have her as part of the Kings Park team.

Platinum Jubilee Weekend

Thank you for your wonderful 70 years of reign on your Platinum Jubilee Your Majesty!

It’s been so lovely hearing about our residents’ memories of #queenelizabeth’s Coronation and what a spectacular weekend we have had.

We all joined together for a ‘weather protected’ street party and a moment to be in the frame!

Our amazing Chef, Wyn, also ensured our residents didn’t miss out on a Jubilee Platinum Pudding! One of our resident’s described it as ‘The most delicious pudding I have ever had!”

Happy 100th Birthday Stan!

All the team and residents of Kings Park would love to say a very Happy 100th Birthday to Stan!

We had a lovely afternoon party full of delicious treats and some favoured songs. Our Chef made a fantastic Strawberry Sponge, as Stan’s signature bake is a Victoria Sponge and everyone sang Happy Birthday!

Stan also has a big family celebration to look forward to tomorrow, some of whom have travelled from Canada for the special occasion!

We hope you have a lovely day tomorrow too Stan and thank you for celebrating with us.

Please join us in wishing Stan, a very very Happy 100th!

Kings Park Team Beat the Scrabble Master!

Starting off with ‘gnomes’ residents played a spellbinding game against the Scrabble Master himself and ended up winning by over 100 points!

Well done Team Kings Park!

Whilst playing we also devoured the third Victoria Sponge cake this week to say Happy Birthday to Ken!

Strawberry Sponge

We’re not quite sure if Kirsty was assisting the residents in the baking of this Strawberry Sponge or if the ladies and Eric were actually helping Kirsty!

Suffice to say though that everyone enjoyed the opportunity to bake a sponge and reminisce about the cakes we’ve made for our families and friends.

Oh and don’t tell Kirsty that when she went to wash the strawberries leaving us to whip up the cream, we actually sneaked it into the kitchen and asked our Chef to help us with the electric whisk!

Employee of the Month for April

Congratulations to Diana, our amazing Admin Assistant, who is our Employee of the Month for April!

Diana has only recently joined the Kings Park team but has made a significant impact with her friendly manner, hard work and friendly welcoming smile. Always happy to help residents, visitors and team members whilst also, somehow, managing to keep a clear and tidy desk!

Thank you Diana, from us all!

Mr Kelloggs Trots to Kings Park

They always say “Start your day with Kelloggs’ but Mr Kelloggs in the morning is certainly a more fun way to begin the day!

Look at all the happy smiles meeting Mr Kelloggs brings and he wasn’t shy to say ”Hello” to all our ’neigh’bours within our home!

Thank you to Linking Hearts therapy horses for your visit. Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous Mr Kelloggs!
