Activities at Kings Park Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Kings Park Care Home
A Fond Farewell to Diana
We had a sad ‘goodbye’ to make last week as we wished our Administrator, Diana, a fond farewell and our best wishes for her and her family’s new life in another country!
Albeit only a four and a half hour drive away to Wales so we hope to see her return for a visit soon!
Diana has always welcomed visitors with a smile, buzzed around our reception making tea and coffee for residents and families and always showed our Barchester values. She will be missed by everyone.
We all wish you well in your new venture Diana!
Collage of a Seventy Year Reign
During the national period of mourning for our Queen, residents on Memory Lane made a touching collage with their favourite memories and photos of Her Majesty.
It was lovely discussing their memories of special moments during her reign and how the whole country celebrated her Coronation, especially how families and friends joined together to watch it on the only television in the street!
Using memories to make memories is a wonderful way to create a piece of art.
HM The Queen
Yesterday we paid our respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her funeral, 19th September 2022.
The whole home came together to honour The Queen, her extraordinary life and service to the nation, the Commonwealth and the world over her 70 years of reign.
We all watched the televised service of the State Funeral that took place in Westminster Abbey, followed by the Committal Service at St. George’s Chapel, within the grounds of Windsor Castle.
During the period of national mourning, it was humbling to listen to our residents’ memories and thoughts about Her Majesty.
Life Long Friends
Aren’t life long friendships just wonderful?!
Dr Anne Dunn travelled all the way from Cheltenham early this morning, just to say hello and spend some time with her friend Pat, who is one of our resdents.
They used to go to school together and have been friends for seventy nine years!
Ashley from Central Taxis in Cheltenham said the journey hadn’t been too bad and that while Anne was seeing Pat, he was keen to take some nature photos although the weather wasn’t great.
Thank you to you both for coming all that way to visit Pat and Kings Park!
Red Arrows Arrive in Town
We took to the skies this afternoon to welcome the RAF Red Arrows to town for the Bournemouth Air Festival and waved our flags as they flew past us….in the distance admittedly ….but we still appreciated their roar!
West Moors Community Café a Great Success!
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the very first West Moors Community Café a bustling success!
Held at St Martins URC, in West Moors, it was lovely to welcome members of the community to join together to chat, laugh and make new friends.
This event, jointly run between Kings Park, St.Martins URC and Moors Manor Care Home, will reoccur on the last Wednesday of each month 10:30-12pm. So we will be back with free coffee, tea and cakes on the 28th September!
