Activities at Kings Park Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Claudia Canosa

Activities Lead

Claudia moved to the UK from her native South Africa with her family some 6 years ago, although her family are of Italian decent.

With a caring nature, Claudia worked for a domiciliary care company helping in people in the community before eventually working in a care home environment, working up to the role of Senior Carer.

Realising how much she enjoyed making the residents smile, Claudia has now stepped into the role of Activities Lead here at Kings Park and very much loves the interaction with our residents, who have all taken a real shine to her.

Claudia can regularly be seen with our residents in a very creative capacity, enjoying flower arranging or leading everyone in a game of good old fashioned Bingo!

When at home, Claudia is a mother to two boys and a girl and also a pet mum to the the gorgeous, Molly - a Jack Russell cross.

She loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa in front of a good rom/com, with:  The Holiday, The Lakehouse and The Notebook as some of her favourites to date.

We are so happy to have her as part of the Kings Park team.

West Moors Community Café

Our monthly West Moors Community Cafe was great fun this morning, especially as it was like being in the forest at St Martins URC, West Moors.!

Lucy, our HSA and Jenna, General Manager at Moors Manor Care Home teamed up to spread a little Christmas happiness with tea, coffee, cupcakes and chocolate brownies for our local community. All very much enjoyed by everyone and we look forward to seeing you again at the first cafe in 2023 on the 25th January.

Until then….Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

AI Pets and Magic Tables

What a lovely photo of Vera smiling away as usual!

We have AI pets on our Memory Lane and our residents love interacting with them. We also have a Magic Table, which is a fantastic way to engage residents. It has so many games and activities to do, which can be enjoyed solo or in a small group.

Carers Rights Day 2022

We really enjoyed being at Carers Rights Day yesterday with our sister homes, Parley Place and Upton Bay!

It was lovely meeting so many people from our local community and for those who have booked a lunch with us, we look forward to welcoming you soon.

Happy Birthday Pat!

As it was Pat's birthday today it's an excuse for cake! We had a lovely afternoon decorating cakes with lots of different toppings

Whirling around for our Community Café!

It was lovely to welcome members of our community in for our Cafe and Retro Rita sang some of our favourite songs to dance to. We couldn’t keep Mary and Eric off the dance floor!

Our Community Cafe is in every third Tuesday of the month at 2pm. It’s for all ages and is free - including the drinks and cakes! So if you’re looking to do something social in a cosy home, come along! Next one is on Tuesday 20th December and will be Christmas themed.
