Activities at Latimer Court Care Home
Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us. You can take a look at some of our regular activities by clicking here.

Knit & Natter
Our knit & natter group were deep in concentration whilst learning new stitches this week, with the odd glass of sherry and classical music on in the background, they all find the sessions beneficial, taking time to talk in a relaxing setting.
Happy 89th Birthday Evelyn
Happy Birthday, beautiful Evelyn, 89 years old today!
She had a wonderful time, with visits from her son and daughter; Paul and Wendy along with her great-grandson as the ‘special guest star’. Evelyn was so pleased to receive and array of cards and presents. One of her favourites was a large bottle of Radox. Evelyn loves a good old soak in the bath. The care team are going to prepare Evelyn a bubbly bath in our Spa suite, the bath has an integral rainbow light show linked to the music of her choice, Evelyn’s not keen on the Jacuzzi element so we’ll keep that off, which is good, as adding the Radox may cause ‘bubble overload’!
Tea, Coffee and Chat in the Family Room
This week we took afternoon tea and coffees in the downstairs family room. Our residents enjoyed chatting together and listening to smooth tunes on the radio. As one commented “Tea always tastes better in a china cup”. Our hostess Danielle, and the kitchen team prepared a wonderful spread; finger buffet style sandwiches, various cakes and a wonderful cheese board.
Fruits of our Labours
This weekend Carer Cristina, and a group of residents took tea in the garden. Whilst exploring the raised beds, they were surprised to find our raspberry plants had a bountiful display of fruits, enough to share with all who wanted to try them. Overall verdict ‘sweet and juicy’. Next Sunday the group will be picking the apples from our small orchard.
Wishing Tree - Pot of Gold
We have a lovely 'Wishing Tree' shining bright in our Latimer Café, a place where our residents and their loved ones can hang their wishes and messages of hope. This week our art group decided to make a rainbow and pot of gold to place under the tree; a place where fulfilled wishes can be placed.
Flower Making Smiles
Our lovely Latimer ladies and gents learnt how to make their own bouquet of artificial flowers. Our activities coordinator Pam, provided a choice of colours and the group created a vase full of beautiful blooms.
