Activities at Lethen Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Life at Lethen Park Care Home
Jack and Vivian enjoy a bus trip
Jack and Vivian really enjoyed a meaningful visit out on the bus. Jack and Vivian wanted some quality time together away from the home so we aranged for that to happen for them.
We organised for a local café to host Jack and Vivian for their special date. On the date, Jack and Vivian enjoyed a beautiful lunch together and had a wonderful time celebrating their love for each other. Jack and Vivian have been married for over 70 years and to this day still enjoy spending every minute together. Sally’s the café made them feel so special by reserving them the best seat and waiting on them and making a big fuss!
On the way home we went a scenic road home taking in all the glorious sights of Aberdeenshire.
Reminiscing in the lounge
Our wonderful ladies at Lethen Park had a very meaningful day reminiscing. We were all sat in the lounge discussing babies and our maternity journeys. We were all so very happy sharing our good and bad memories of these days gone by. We all spoke about what hospitals were like and how they are now, we spoke about midwifes and their roles.
We ever spoke about infections and things we had to do to keep our babies safe. We had a wonderful reminiscing session which lead on to us watching our programmes here at Lethen Park Call The Midwife. During this programme our ladies were all so engaged and were recalling their experiences as being similar at times.
We are grateful for period drama’s as these are not only an entertainment programme but for many on memory lane these act as a reminiscing tool.
Couple celebrate 50th anniversary!
A couple from Lethen Park have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Allan Nicole and Norma Nicole met on a blind date on 17th September 1971 and Allan thought it was love at first sight. Allan proposed to Norma the following year on her birthday, 9th April 1972. Norma remembers it, like it was yesterday!
Norma said, “They were sitting in his Viva Vauxhall car, parked up outside Norma’s Mum and Dad’s house. Norma said it was a perfect evening after going to cinema at Justice Mill Lane and enjoying a fish and chip supper. Allan asked Norma’s Dad, Ernest for her hand in marriage. Norma was delighted as Allan was always a true gentleman and still is a romantic husband.
Pet therapy moments
Residents, Davie and Hazel really enjoyed time in the lounge with Toby our Therapy Dog.
Davie was very happy and content sitting with Toby and patting the dog with love and care. Toby brought a great deal of joy to Hazel too. Hazel was very settled and really enjoyed seeing Toby.
Hazel enjoyed taking Toby a walk along the corridors to see her fellow friends. This not only helped Hazel with her own emotional needs however help Hazel with her physical needs, Hazel walked with Toby and enjoyed the exercise.
