Activities at Meadowbeck Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Tina Holmes
Hi, I’m Tina, and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Meadowbeck.
I began working at the home as a Care Assistant in 1999. In 2014, I changed my role to Social Support Worker, which I enjoyed, as it involved supporting residents at Meadowbeck in their daily lifestyles.
I then became the Activities Coordinator in May 2017. I love working with our residents and getting to know them and their families. In addition to supporting them maintain an active lifestyle I always ensure to personally get to know each resident when they move in with us to support them in the continuation of any hobbies or interests the might have.

Life at Meadowbeck Care Home
Relaxing over a glass of wine
What better way to end the day after a busy day of autumnal crafts than to settle back and enjoy a relaxing cheese and wine evening.
It was a perfect opportunity to relax, chat and reminiscence over a glass of wine accompanied by a selection of delicious mouth-watering cheese from Wensleydale creamery in Hawes, the evening was a great success with lots of chatter and hearty laughter!
Grandparents Day
Lots of residents at Meadowbeck Care Home in Osbaldwick, York received special visits from their grandchildren/great grandchildren to celebrate Grandparents’ Day on Sunday 6th October.
Other residents whose families live further away enjoyed having calls with their grandchildren over Facetime and were touched to receive cards from their families and from the local community.
Residents at Meadowbeck looked at old photos and reminisced about stories from their childhood when they spent time with their own grandparents, and spoke fondly about their grandchildren.
Some Mother's do Ave Em
Residents across our services had a fantastic time enjoying the virtual screening of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Frank Spencer’s comical misadventures had everyone laughing and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and a special thanks to The Barn Theatre in the Cotswolds for bringing this stage adaptation of the beloved sitcom to our screens.
