Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Life at Middletown Grange Care Home
2nd Vaccination Program Starts
Today; 26th March 2021 we celebrated our residents receiving their 2nd Covid-19 vaccinations. Resident 'Rene Dent' who will be 101 years-young in just a few weeks couldn't wait to roll up her sleeve!
Big THANK YOU to Dr Ben Barker for his professional pop-up clinic within our home from the Nuffield Health Centre in Witney.
Happy 90th Birthday Beautiful 'Pat'
It was all go from the moment Pat woke up on Tuesday, with cards and presents to open, and a party organised in her honour. Staff sang happy birthday as home manager; Claire gave Pat an individual candled cake to make a wish.
Pat is such a lovely lady, full of stories and fun. Her Irish sense of humour comes through whenever it can, she’s a real ‘card’ as they say, and makes the home staff giggle on a regular basis. Pat originates from Roscommon County, Ireland as she’ll tell you, where they lived growing up; she could place one foot in Roscommon and the other in Sligo!
Her wish came true with visits throughout the morning from members of her close family in our garden visitor pod. It was such a magical day, her son; BJ (Brian) presented his mum with two photo albums full of memories which she’s not been able to put down. The final gift of the biggest smile came when her great granddaughter; Tilly-Mae woke up as leaving... it was priceless.
We managed to capture the generations in one 'socially distanced' photo; Tilly-Mae, mum Abbie and Pat’s daughter, Dee. So special 'Happy Birthday' lovely lady.
Relaxing Afternoon Movie
Now what could be better after a wonderful spa bath to sit and relax watching Yul Brynner and Ingrid Bergman in the classic 'Anastasia'... one of our lady residents thought it would be just perfect!
Springtime Garden Walks
Spring has sprung within the Middletown Grange gardens!
With the warmer weather coming our residents are enjoying their regular strolls around our grounds even more than usual. Finding pleasure in exploring the new life in our flower beds; purple crocus and the brightest of yellow daffodils. It's making everyone smile.
Artistic Valentines Gift
Our lovely 'Betty' was overwhelmed to receive a beautiful hand drawn gift from her husband for Valentine’s Day. He certainly has a very special talent, the framed sketch is so detailed; capturing a precious moment in time – very romantic.
Ash Wednesday
Today our residents spent time discussing Ash Wednesday and the meaning behind Lent. Many decided on things they could 'give up' for 40 days, the choices included; chocolate, sweets and exercise?!
During our Arts & Crafts session they painted crosses, and sang along to their favourite hymns, it was so beautiful to hear.
