Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Life at Middletown Grange Care Home
Employee of the Month - June
Congratulations to Activities Coordinator, Rebecca Huxtable, who was named as our Employee of the Month for June.
Summer Painting
Residents on our Memory Lane unit were getting messy with some summer painting. This creative and sensory activity was thoroughly enjoyed and was a great start to summer activities.
Hailey Festival
We set up a mosaics stall at the Hailey Festival on 16th June, with help from the local Witney Explorer Scouts. The day was full of sunshine and we were visited by many people fro the local community and further afield.
Gardening fanatics
Gardening is a keen focal point within the home with lots of keen gardeners living here. Some residents and their families have even started attending to the gardens themselves bringing tomato plants from home and helping keep the other vegetables alive which other residents have planted. One resident has a personal garden which they have been growing for the past 2 years at the home and go out daily with staff to water, weed and prune. We are very proud of our gardens and our residents love tending them.
Nails
Every Monday residents eagerly await the time when Becca (one of our activities coordinators) comes round to clip, file, clean and paint nails for the afternoon. It’s a really meaningful activity for those residents that cannot find themselves out of their beds so the nail salon comes to them!
Hailey Festival
We had a great day on Saturday Down at the Hailey festival running a mosaics stall raising money for our regional manager who's doing a 10k run for the British Heart Foundation in July. With help from the local explorer group, Witney Explorer Scout Unit - WESU,
