Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Balloon tennis with our volunteers
Today we had our wonderful volunteers Geraldine, Dee and Adele who made a request to play the balloon tennis with the residents as it is so much fun. As you can see from the photos there was lots of laughter and plenty of fun had.
Volunteers are such a big part of life here at Moors Manor and we are so grateful to Geraldine, Dee and Adele for all that they do.

70's Dance Class
Residents had a fun afternoon learning a new skill dancing!! Residents enjoyed learning the 70's dance routine finding their inner disco and getting their groove to the music. Lots of fun and laughter were had and we will be sure to do this again very soon.

Robert our Gardener
We like to empower our residents here in the home and when we found out how much Robert used to enjoy looking after his garden we asked if he wanted to help in the gardens we have here. Robert takes his role very seriously and is checking each day to make sure our plants are well watered. Thank you Robert for doing such a great job.

Art club.
Residents enjoyed getting creative with free drawing and creating works of art in a peaceful and tranquil setting. We like to encourage the residents to socialise with one another whilst also working on their own individual piece. Residents found it very therapeutic and have requested we do this again very soon.

Minibus outing to Compton Acres
Today's minibus outing took us to the beautiful Compton Acres where we took a walk around the gardens and admired all the different plants they had. We then finished our trip with a visit to the café for a well-deserved drink and cake and we bumped into our friends from sister home Upton Bay Care Home - Barchester Healthcare who were also there for a visit.
It was a lovely afternoon and we will certainly come back again soon.

Gardening club
Residents had another enjoyable gardening club in the home and this time residents were planting hanging baskets to then go around the garden. Everyone all had a really fun afternoon and got green fingered while doing this. We look forward to seeing them continue to bloom in the garden.
