Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Bowling fun in the home
Who doesn't love bowling and trying to get a strike! Residents were all enjoying playing our new game in the home and getting rather competitive with each other to see who could knock them all down. Staff also had a go and it was harder than it looked.
I am sure we will be playing this again and we will see who comes out on top!

Father's Day and Birthday Celebrations
Yesterday was a day for celebrating, first was Father's Day for all the wonderful Fathers we have here including staff and then birthday celebrations for Christine and Lynda. We were able to give all the fathers in the home a gift from us and as you can see they all looked very happy to be celebrating.
In the afternoon we did what we do best, afternoon social for our birthday ladies Christine and Lynda. They both had beautiful homemade birthday cakes creating by our fantastic kitchen team and a gift from us. Happy Birthday Christine and Lynda from all of us here at Moors Manor.

National Carers Week
This week is National Carers Week and we would like to thank all of our wonderful carers we have that work here at Moors Manor. Carers give all of our residents the care and support that they need to live their best lives.
We had an afternoon social together with the residents who all thanked carers who were there and then Barchester Healthcare had delivered to our home a gift box full of chocolates and sweets to say thank you as well.
Thank you carers, from all residents and staff here at Moors Manor.

Fruity skewers
This week’s baking club was a little bit different, rather than baking we wanted to prepare more healthy snacks for everyone to enjoy. Residents peeled, chopped and sliced fruit and vegetables to then make a fruit and vegetable platter. Everyone rolled up their sleeves and rather enjoyed a fun afternoon together.

Minibus outing to Petlake Alpacas New Forest
Residents asked if they could visit more animals after the last successful trip visiting the horses so this time we thought we would go to Petlake Alpacas of the New Forest which was near to the home to visit the Alpacas and other lovely animals they have there.
Residents Liz, Betty and Jean had a wonderful afternoon seeing the alpacas, goats and rams. Liz was more than happy to feed them all even if it did tickle a bit. We had so many laughs as a few of the alpacas were a bit more cheeky than others.
We then finished off our lovely afternoon out by going to a local garden centre for some much needed refreshments afterwards.

Residents gardening club
Residents are enjoying their weekly gardening club and have been planting more plants into the borders which we look forward to seeing what they grow into. Resident Marianne has been keeping a regular eye on all of our plants and been watering them each day. Residents have enjoyed being able to do gardening again as they are able to use the raised borders we have. Many residents hadn't been able to do gardening when they were still at home so it is great we are able to offer this to them.
