Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Life at Moors Manor Care Home
Dorset chamber networking walk at Sandbanks
A fantastic sunny walk with the Dorset Chamber this morning. Jenna and I met some great new business contacts who will be visiting Moors Manor very soon. Afterwards we enjoyed a freshly brewed coffee at Ricks Steins and chatted to more local businesses.
Dementia Action week - Therapy tortoises
In support of Dementia Action week we decided to ask our Head Chef Phil if he would bring in his three tortoise for our residents to pet and feed. This is a fantastic exercise for some of our residents, it has been proven that touching and stroking animals is very therapeutic.
Art workshop supporting our residents mental health
In support of Mental Health Awareness week, we decided to put on an art workshop for some of our residents to try and use their creative skills. Val was very pleased with her finished painting and Marjorie painted some beautiful flowers
Employee of the month - April 2023
Congratulations to Amanda for winning Employee of the month for April. Amanda is always smiling and engaging with the residents. She cooks us delicious dishes and nothing is ever to much to ask. Well done Amanda. Thank you so much for all your hard work ensuring that our residents have nutritious and tasty dishes.
Celebrating the Kings Coronation
Excitement was in the air as we all celebrated the highly anticipated Coronation of King Charles in style.
Our home was beautifully decorated with themed flags, banners and red, white and blue balloons, setting the stage for a grand royal afternoon tea and quiz.
The whole home came together, along with families, friends and local community members to celebrate our new King and talk about the new era the country is entering.
Our talented chef prepared an assortment of delicious sweet and savoury treats for all to enjoy, accompanied by a glass of champagne.
We all had such a brilliant time celebrating the Coronation, such a momentous occasion.
Enjoying the spring sunshine
Marjorie and Colin sat with a cup of tea enjoying the spring sunshine. Whilst Maisie took her Empathy dolls for a wander in the gardens. Marjorie sang her favourite songs to Colin and they all soaked in the spring sunshine.
