Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Veena's Birthday
Yesterday we celebrated the lovely Veena's birthday. We gave her a little afternoon social where we gave her a present from us all here in the home and had a beautiful birthday cake for her to enjoy. Afterwards residents enjoyed playing some darts and other games and had a fun afternoon.
Happy Birthday Veena from all of us here at Moors Manor.

Flower arranging with our volunteers
Our lovely volunteers Geraldine and Dee came in to the home to help with our daily activities and this time they were helping with flower arranging. We had a beautiful selection of different flowers that residents were able to create beautiful displays in the vases that we then placed around the home.
Afterwards our residents and volunteers then enjoyed some refreshments and had a lovely chat together. We really do appreciate all the work that Geraldine and Dee do.

Cocktails and Photo Booth fun.
Residents enjoyed an afternoon social with homemade cocktails and a bit of fun with a photo booth. The ladies all joined in to create their best pose with the accessories to hand. We will have our photo booth out again at our Summer Fair so we hope everyone will join in again to create the pose of the day!

Cocktails and Canapes evening.
We held our Cocktails and Canapes event and what a wonderful evening we had. We had the very talented Nigel Revill - Lone Reveller Music perform throughout the evening with a selection of songs. We had our very own Senior Head Chef Gary and his team prepare mouth-watering Canapes which everyone enjoyed.
We had our own mixologists in the home, Home Services Advisor Laura and Activity Coordinator Jo were on hand to make the selection of cocktails that were on offer. The cocktails were enjoyed that much that Laura and Jo have been asked by the Ashley Heath WI to make cocktails for their summer party which of course we would love to do. Favourite cocktail for the night was the classic Pina Colada.
Residents and the wider community who attended all had a wonderful time and look forward to our next one.

Strawberry Picking
Who doesn't love to go strawberry picking, as part of our gardening group we have been growing lots of our own produce including strawberries. Marianne has been keeping a close eye on all of the plants and been watering them every day and here we see the fruits of our labour with these wonderful strawberries.
We look forward to seeing how all the other plants grow and what we can then enjoy in the home.

Ashley Belles perform in the home
Earlier in the week we had the Ashley Belles Choir from Ashley Heath WI group come in to the home. They performed a variety of songs which had residents singing along and tapping their feet too. Afterwards the ladies then went and had tea/coffee and cake and sat and chatted with our residents.
It was a lovely afternoon and we were so pleased to welcome the choir back again into the home and look forward to them coming in again soon.
