Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

A Visit from Pete Calveley
Pete Calveley- CEO at Barchester, visited Moreton Hill on 12 May 2023. One of our Resident ambassadors –Moira Hall, welcomed him with a painting- created by a local artist as a token from the residents and team members and with a beautiful poem.
Regional Director- Xin Zhao said “Moira is one of the most involved resident ambassadors she has ever met. “

Punch and Judy
A little bit of the traditional seaside was a great treat for our residents. Punch and Judy are usually based at Weston Super Mare but they made a trip up to Gloucestershire to entertain us all. In the summer months we plan to take some day trips to the seaside. It’s something to look forward to when the warmer weather finally arrives.

Ducklings and Hawks
We have seen plenty of bird life here at Moreton this month. Lorna our Activity Co-Ordinator brought in some of her neighbour’s ducklings –all very cute and fluffy. In contrast we also enjoyed a talk from ‘Walks with Hawks’ who brought in a number of owls and hawks for everyone to see.

Celebrating the King's Coronation
Despite the weather, we had a fantastic few days celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III. The home was decked out in banners and flags and the residents all enjoyed watching the ceremony on TV. We were invited down to Stonehouse to join in with the community celebrations on Sunday and on the Monday we held our own party to thanks some of the many volunteers that come into our home and enrich the lives of our residents.

Traditional Indian Dancing
We welcomed Nisha to Moreton Hill for a traditional dance display from Goa, India. The beautiful colours of Nisha’s dress and the graceful movements of her dance were fabulous to watch. Some of our residents were brave enough to have a go at dancing too!
