Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Newton House Activities Team
Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Newton House Care Home
Home host cultural themed day
Newton House celebrated Black History Month with residents and staff. Black History Month was originally founded 37 years ago by Akyaaba Addai-Sebo. He had come to London as a refugee from Ghana in 1984.
Our Cultural themed days are proving to be a great success, as we celebrate the amazing cultures of Newton House Team.
Today’s celebrations were all about African culture & food, which also fitted in with celebrating Black History Month throughout our life enrichment programme for October.
Virtual afternoon at the theatre
Residents across our services had a fantastic time enjoying the virtual screening of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em. Frank Spencer’s comical misadventures had everyone laughing and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and a special thanks to The Barn Theatre in the Cotswolds for bringing this stage adaptation of the beloved sitcom to our screens.

RESIDENTS ENJOY THE GREAT STORY-TELLING OF ROALD DAHL
Roald Dahl Day celebrates the birthday of one of the greatest storytellers of all time. The prolific writer is known for penning many popular children’s books including Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, Fantastic Mr Fox, James and the Giant Peach to name but a few. He also wrote many books and short stories for adults, often with a twist in the tale. His books have been translated into 58 different languages and have sold well over 200 million copies worldwide.
Cornish Seal Sanctuary
A big thank you to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary for the fantastic live virtual event today!
Residents across our services loved seeing the seals up close and learning about the incredible work the sanctuary does to protect them and other wildlife in Cornwall as well.
Everyone truly enjoyed the experience.
Gentlemans Club Trip
This week we took our Gents Club on the road with a trip out to the 'Musson Gap'. enjoying a nice cold pint & lots of enjoyable conversations
John enjoyed reminiscing about his life in Spain, the culture & the beautiful weather there.
Before we knew it, it was time to head back home for a delicious curry for lunch.
