Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Newton House Activities Team
Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Newton House Care Home

Dream trip to the Zoo
This morning we ventured out on the minibus for a very special visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, making Gail’s wish of seeing a Giraffe come true!
The Giraffe’s met all of Gail’s excited expectations of just how beautiful, and majestic they are in real life - Although she was shocked as she never imagined them to be so big!

A Christmas Carol with the Old Vic
Across our homes we’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating the festive season with a special screening of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol.
This beautifully staged production brought the magic of Dickens’ classic tale right into our homes. A huge thank you to The Old Vic theatre for sharing this incredible performance with us. It was a truly wonderful experience.

World Kindness Day
The world is a better place when surrounded by kindness, we believe that kindness should be given each & every day. There’s certainly nothing more beautiful than making someone smile
This morning was absolutely heart-warming to hear our amazing residents thoughts on being kind. The questions created some beautiful conversations, smiles & laughter.

1920's celebrations
What an absolutely fun filled day we’ve had today with our 1920’s themed event.
You all know how we love to party at Newton House, & today was no exception as we welcomed the super talented & amazing Jules for a morning of live musical entertainment.
Singing some amazing classics including ‘Hit The Road Jack’ & Hey Big Spender’ Jules had everyone enjoying the fun & she even taught us the ‘Charleston’! It was such an incredible atmosphere.

Young Carers Club
Tonight we had the pleasure of welcoming back the fabulous Lauren Mann from Farrow Friends and her amazing Young Carers Club, for their monthly group. Residents really enjoyed the evening full of laughter and cuddles.

Festive Floristry Workshop
Staff and residents across our homes were treated to an interactive virtual Christmas-inspired table decorating masterclass, courtesy of talented master florist, Kathryn Delve.
Kathryn is an independent florist based in Somerset, she specialises in creating unique wedding and event flowers. She takes much of her inspiration for her displays from the beautiful scenery that surrounds her home and the changing seasons and colours.
During the workshop, residents were invited to join Kathryn to make beautiful Christmas-themed table decorations.
