Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Christmas Party

Christmas Party

The final Christmas party of 2018 was on our Watergate unit. There was jazz, Christmas music, and plenty of delicious refreshments.

Honouring the Fallen

On a very cold and windy day on 9th November, we went to Lincoln City to pay our respects to those who have fallen in the line of duty.

We visited the International Bomber Command Centre, which pays homage to the 62 nations who served or supported the Command. Covering 5 continents, the stories of their involvement is one that is rarely known.

The Walls of Names that we saw remember almost 58,000 men and women who lost their lives serving or supporting Bomber Command during WWII. The residents even found their own surnames on the walls – it was a very emotional trip!

Jo Jingles

We had a fantastic time during our fortnightly Jo Jingles session at Newton House, singing, dancing and playing with musical instruments. Residents also enjoyed watching the children take part and they can’t wait for the next session.

Shadows from the Past

Shadows from the Past

'Shadows from the Past' singer, Eric, came along for a morning of entertainment on our Memory Lane community. We were all up dancing, and our Carer, Rizz, gave us a wonderful performance at the end.

Armistice Arts & Crafts

Armistice Arts & Crafts

We wanted to create a great visual display in recognition of Remembrance Day, and it has been a great talking point since we put it up.

We visited the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln and took a trip into town on Sunday 11th November to attend the Remembrance Parade.

Residents had a great time doing arts & crafts, creating stained glass poppies and reminiscing about the war times.

Boogie Beatz

Danni from Boogie Beatz exercise came to visit us again this month for our exercise class. She does a wide range of exercises and the residents have a really good time shaking their pom poms to all sorts of different music.
