Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Newton House Activities Team
Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Newton House Care Home
Out & About
We have enjoyed several outings recently; residents were delighted to go to the park, visit the Little Jacks Farm and have a tipple in the Woodland Waters.
We thought it would be a great idea to meet up with our sister home, Lancaster Grange, at the farm for a picnic. Residents absolutely loved this idea, so we will be meeting up on a regular basis for outings and coffee mornings.
Pub Visit
As we've had some amazing weather recently, we decided to take a nice country drive over to Woolsthorpe and sit by the canal to enjoy a refreshing drink at the Mucky Duck. Everyone had a really nice time!
Ice Skating at 60
Resident, Nina, turned 60 recently. She believed that she would be at home with her family to celebrate it but, unfortunately, she wasn’t able to.
She had let it slip that she'd always wanted to go ice skating again, as her heroes are Torvill and Dean, so we planned a birthday she wouldn't forget. We got her and a few other residents on the minibus and travelled over to Nottingham, where we were able to watch an ice skating competition, as well as get on the ice.
Nina had such a brilliant day that she didn’t want to come home. Just to finish the day off, we all tucked into some proper fish 'n' chips.
Good Friday Celebrations
We took a trip to Lancaster Grange Care Home to celebrate Good Friday and they had Alfie the PAT horse visiting, much to our delight. Everyone loved seeing him and petting him.
Easter Baskets
We had a little competition for Easter at Newton House. Each community designed their own Easter baskets. They were all so good that we couldn’t decide a winner, so they all won!
Chicks at Newton House
Here at Newton House, we had a few new arrivals; we welcomed 10 eggs, which we hatched out into little chicks. The residents and staff were all eager to get their hands on them and, as you can see, they were thoroughly loved!
