Activities at Oulton Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We have a wonderful team here at Oulton Park and we all work together to provide a stimulating, active environment for our residents that live here. We are always looking for new and innovative ideas for our residents to be part of here, and our activities coordinator works very hard on planning and providing a stimulating busy schedule of activities, as well as assisting the residents with their daily living preferences. We have regular meetings with our families and residents to make sure we are providing things to suit their preferences. We as a home are registered with the National Activity Providers Association and strive to provide a person-centred approach for our residents here.

Louise Hunter-Hall
Hello my name is Louise, I am the life enrichment and activities coordinator at Oulton park care centre.
I joined Oulton Park late 2023 but I have worked in the care industry for over 20 years and I have a compassion for my role and work. During the 20years I have supported many different adults with different care needs including, nursing care, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, independent living and 1:1 needs. I have both my level 2&3 in care and level 2 in sign language.
At Oulton my role is to create and organise a range of engaging and meaningful activities. My role brings me a great deal of comfort and joy.
If I can just make 1 persons life better during my working day at Oulton Park then the day has been a success. I feel honoured, fortunate and blessed to do the job I do.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Chocolate Extravaganza
In celebration of dementia action week and Cadburys 200 birthday, our residents and staff enjoyed a week of chocolate fun. We had baking with bobby where our residents learnt how to make the best chocolate cake using Cadbury chocolate. We then created our own chocolate bars from the wrappers which the residents designed to melting the chocolate and using a variety of fillings they created their own tasty bars which residents and staff got to try once the bars had set. It was great fun!

Mini Bus Advernture
Who doesn’t love a sunny day out! We enjoyed a lovely trip down to Kensington gardens to enjoy a peaceful walk and a nice drink in the café. Once we arrived We enjoyed watching a game of bowls. The residents and staff enjoyed talking about the game and watching the skill of the players. It was wonderful to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather and great company.

Duckling Fun
We were joined by five duckling friends, who came for cuddles and a splash round in a paddling pool for our residents to enjoy, for a few of our residents this was the first time they held a duckling and it was very special to witness. Two of the ducklings still needed to be named so our residents on memory lane voted and called one of the ducklings dusky and on hawthorn they voted and called the second one Oulton. It was wonderful to spend the morning with the beautiful creatures and see how they bond to the people around them the residents enjoyed it thoroughly asking for the ducks to visit again

Oulton Park Care Home, in Oulton have welcomed Dr Udah and team from Bridge Road Surgery for an interactive therapeutic engagement with residents at Oulton Park to celebrate Dementia awareness week. Lots of wonderful activities for the residents to take part in including aqua painting, a sing along and lots of reminiscing. The Bridge Road team took the time to visit all residents in the home. Lots of smiles and interactions from residents which was so wonderful to see.

A purr-fect day
We had a lovely visit from crystal over the weekend, who came in to enjoy some one to one time with our residents

Saint George saves the day
Saint George’s day here at Oulton park, means tales of saint George defeating the dragon, knights and fair maidens walking the halls of Oulton park.
Everyone at Oulton park had great fun enjoying the fancy dress, we baked tasty cupcakes decorated in the English flag. And in the afternoon we tested the knowledge of our residents about the famous Christian martyr. Along with announcing the winner of the best shield competition, which was design by the residents last week. The day was full of fun and laughter as Staff and Residents travelled back in time to Medieval England and defeated the Dragon.
