Activities at Ouse View Care Home
We understand that the people we will be supporting will have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love. We also enjoy our regular clubs, virtual events and varied life enrichment programme.

Life at Ouse View Care Home
Snow at Ouse View
The Residents at Ouse View have had a great time experimenting with different fold patterns and cutting techniques to create unique paper snowflakes.
The activity has brought a little bit of winter cheer to the home and added a festive touch to the decor.
Residents and staff always enjoy the touch of winter inside Ouse View, as long as we are still warm and cosy.
PAT Dog Visit
Ouse View in Fulford had a wonderful visit by a four legged friend toady, the Chocolate Labrador Bruno the PAT DOG.
Bruno made his way to each resident offering company, cuddles and cuteness along with some impressive tricks.
Residents enjoyed watching him spin around, roll over and give his paw when asked. Mainly, residents and staff enjoyed the company of our friend, he is calm and warm and loves to sit on your toes to keep them toasty!
Sweet Sounds of Jazz
Ouse View residents were swinging out to the sound of jazz singer Nikki Humberstone over the weekend. A Christmas chorus could be heard through the home as we sang and played along with percussion instruments. We received a solo rendition from Harry to Frank Sinatra’s my way, a heart warming treat for a frosty afternoon.
Christmas festivities
Barchester’s Ouse View Care home, in Fulford, celebrated the Christmas season with dozens of festivities. Ouse View’s Christmas celebrations were in full swing on December the first with a special visit from the main man himself later in the month. Residents enjoyed a feast of festive foods prepared by the home’s chef, Sean Cawker.
General Manager, Rebekka Richardson said: “Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year and our fantastic residents love to get festive so we’ve pulled out all the stops. It is so lovely to see them all getting into the Christmas spirit, it’s definitely my favourite time of year.”
'Tree-mundus' Christmas Cheesy Treats
This week residents have a ‘Tree-mundus’ time at Ouse View making a cheesy Christmas treat. Home bakers and novices were called upon. Once baked all who participated were able to share in the taste test, a delicious festive treat.
Christmas Jumper Day
Christmas jumper day has arrived at Ouse View in Fulford both staff and residents enjoy the fun.
We got Christmas creative by recycling some unwanted jumpers and fabric to make our very own designs, representative shapes are cut, placed and attached to each individual idea.
