Activities at Ouse View Care Home
We understand that the people we will be supporting will have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Rachael Turner
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love. We also enjoy our regular clubs, virtual events and varied life enrichment programme.

Life at Ouse View Care Home
Februarys Dementia Café Morning
At Ouse View it was a heartwarming day as we hosted another Dementia Café Morning. Residents and visitors came together for some socialising and conversations which led into a craft yarn session, building hearts together.
It was a special moment of love and support for those living with dementia.
U-SIT Keep Fit
Excited to share that our residents at Ouse View had a fun and active exercise session with Mark using elastic bands! The workout was a great way to improve strength and flexibility, and the seniors thoroughly enjoyed it. Here's to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle!
National Activities Providers Week
Staff and residents at Ouse View care home in Fulford, run by Barchester Healthcare, are celebrating National Activity Providers Week, which takes place from January 23-27. Residents and staff wanted to thank the wonderful activities team at the home, whose hard work and dedication make a real difference to the lives of the residents living there.
National Activity Providers Week is an annual event to support activity professionals and thank them for all the many different varied activities they provide to residents and patients. Each and every member of the team at Ouse View offer unique, tailored activities and entertainment to the residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this everyone at the home is truly grateful.
Burns Night Fun
Residents at Ouse View celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns. We explore pipe music, Tartan and listen to poems such as 'The Mouse' and address the Haggis as we prepare to enjoy a burns night supper prepared by our in house Chefs.
Chinese New Year
The residents at Ouse View had an amazing time celebrating Chinese New Year! They feasted on delicious Chinese food and learned all about the Chinese zodiac animals. But that's not all! We also took them on a virtual trip to China, where they got to experience all the sights and sounds of the celebration.
Winter Walks
Here at Ouse View we took a stroll in the winter wonderland around Fulford. Margot, Margaret, Suzan and Judith observed singing birds, frosted gardens, the frozen river and trees just coming into buds as the seasons are set to change. Residents wrapped up in their winter woollies and on our return, we thawed out with a toasty cup or two of Yorkshire tea.
