Activities at Parley Place Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Co-ordinator

I love being a friendly face for our residents.  A day in their lives should be filled with the care they deserve and enriched with activities.  We embrace each and every moment and make memories, I have many skills and a passion to provide our residents with the social interactions, lots of activities, smiles, laughter and fun.

Back to School Wisdom from our Residents

As the school year starts soon, our residents here at Parley Place have been busy preparing some special messages for our local school children. They’ve shared their motivational words of wisdom to help the children kick off the term with a smile, there is some great advice here and we are sending our best wishes to all children starting or returning to school this week.Check out the photos we’ve taken of their advice!

Fun at Sea!

We love going on the Dolphin III boat from Poole Quay but this trip was extra special for one of our residents.Carolina took the helm and drove the boat for the skipper and guests down the Wareham river. Carolina loves being on the water - her husband built her a boat and taught her how to drive this as they took trips on the Thames down to Oxford and it's a place she feels very comfortable.

National Teddy Bear Day

National Teddy Bear Day has been created so that we have a specific date whereby we can pay tribute to one of our favorite childhood toys so we embraced this here at Parley with our residents and staff bringing in their teddies. We all talked about the history of our bears and Sherry even dressed up as Barchy bear for the day!We learnt that June has a bear who is over 80 years old and she has a photo of her as a child with the bear, ted. She looks after him well and we were very grateful that she shared his story with us.

Trip to New Forest to see the Donkeys

It may not have been a beautiful sunny summers day but that didn't spoil our trip to the gorgeous New Forest. We stopped to say hello to some donkeys and enjoyed some delicious ice creams!

The New Forest is only a short drive from the home and is a favourite with our residents, some used to live there and many visited so it's a great chance for everyone to reminisce!
