Activities at Peony Court Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life by providing regular social and psychological stimulation. The activities can be undertaken in groups or ‘one-to-one’ and are based on individual preferences. We have a varied programme, with the goal of appealing to the interests and capabilities of all residents as best as possible. For example, there's pottery, baking, Scrabble, art classes, exercise sessions and much more. The Activities Coordinators also organise visits from entertainers, local groups, including school choirs, religious services and outings on the minibus.
Paul McKee
Hi! I'm Paul, the Activities Co-Ordinator at Peony Court.
Before I joined the care sector I worked for many years in the hotel industry, managing housekeeping, hospitality and customer experience. Several members of my family have a history of working in care and I thought, maybe that could be me as well. I'm a natural entertainer with a flare for bringing smiles to people's faces and this was absolutely the right move for me.
Here at Peony Court, I make a point of getting to know each and every resident and their families. I tailor the activities program to suit individuals, no one is the same and everyone has different interests. It's my aim to be empathetic, enthusiastic and engaging with all of my residents. We have incredible activities and events here guided by exactly what our residents want, from pampering sessions to singing and dancing, chair exercises to arts and crafts, and diversity is absolutely the key!
I can't wait to welcome more residents and guests to Peony Court!

Life at Peony Court Care Home
Sunshine on a Rainy Day
We are so lucky here at Peony Court to have our very own mini bus! It means we get out and about whenever we fancy it! This week was no exception, with a brief intermission from the rain we took full advantage of the sunshine and took a stroll around Carshalton Ponds.
Rivalling the Ritz!
Our Tea at the Court event was a complete sell out for March, every seat filled!
Residents, family and friends old and new were treated to home made cakes and bakes and entertainment with our 5* entertainer Barry...
We're already advertising our April tea and anticipating another busy one.... We can't wait!
Top 20 Care Home 2023 Award!
We are happy to announce that we have won a carehome.co.uk award and have been prized for one of the Top 20 Care Homes in our region for 2022. The awards highlight the most recommended care homes in each region of the UK and the recognition is based on published reviews from residents and their families and friends, as of February 2023.
Paddy's Day fun!
St Patrick's day was a right old craic! With Irish style canapes, Guinness a plenty, live music, Irish dancing and a quiz for good measure there was fun to be had by all!
if there is one thing we know how to do at Peony Court it's celebrating the good times!!
Celebrating the Mum's
Mum's often have a tough job on their hands, we know that so we treated our mums to a pink rose and some delicious home made cupcakes, hand delivered by our very own fabulous Phyliss!
I like to move it... I like to move it move it
Did you know that regular light exercise is good for us all, but especially good for older adults.
The benefits of regular exercise include (but aren't limited to):
1, Improved heart and lung health
2. Reduced risk of diabetes, strokes and some cancers
3. Strengthening and maintaining muscle strength
4. Maintaining or losing weight
5. Improvement of skin quality / reduced risk of pressure ulcers
6. Reducing the risk of falls.
Exercise can also help release happy endorphins AND it can also help us live longer!
With this in mind we run multiple sessions each week adapted to suit our residents abilities. We also have a lifestyle and exercise class every week on Tuesdays with Age UK.
