Activities at Peony Court Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life by providing regular social and psychological stimulation. The activities can be undertaken in groups or ‘one-to-one’ and are based on individual preferences. We have a varied programme, with the goal of appealing to the interests and capabilities of all residents as best as possible. For example, there's pottery, baking, Scrabble, art classes, exercise sessions and much more. The Activities Coordinators also organise visits from entertainers, local groups, including school choirs, religious services and outings on the minibus.

Hi! I'm Paul, the Activities Co-Ordinator at Peony Court.
Before I joined the care sector I worked for many years in the hotel industry, managing housekeeping, hospitality and customer experience. Several members of my family have a history of working in care and I thought, maybe that could be me as well. I'm a natural entertainer with a flare for bringing smiles to people's faces and this was absolutely the right move for me.
Here at Peony Court, I make a point of getting to know each and every resident and their families. I tailor the activities program to suit individuals, no one is the same and everyone has different interests. It's my aim to be empathetic, enthusiastic and engaging with all of my residents. We have incredible activities and events here guided by exactly what our residents want, from pampering sessions to singing and dancing, chair exercises to arts and crafts, and diversity is absolutely the key!
I can't wait to welcome more residents and guests to Peony Court!

A Diamond Experience
Residents recently had the absolute pleasure of attending The Diamond Riding school for the disabled, they learnt about the horses and ponies and got to get hands on grooming them and feeding them pre-approved treats!
We ended our wonderful experience with tea and cake... naturally!
Birthday Cakes
Here at Peony Court birthday's are important to us and our residents choose how they like to celebrate and what cake they would like custom made for the occasion.... some also choose to throw a party to mark the day. Whatever their wish we always try to make it happen. Check out some of our latest birthday cakes.... makes me hungry just looking!
Bank Holiday Fun
We don't worry about the rain, especially when we can be entertained indoors! This bank holiday Monday our residents enjoyed the beautiful sounds of The Sweet Harmony vocal Group! They had gorgeous harmonies and even niftier dance moves!
Truly Scrumptious!
Our ever popular "Tea at the Court" was a sell out once again! Sandwiches, cake, copious amounts of tea and live entertainment, what more could you want?! Book your space at the next event sooner rather than later!
World Book Lover's Day
In recognition of World Book Lovers Day we were joined by local LEGEND Rita Upchurch. RIta is 91 and has an MBE to boot! She came in to talk about her book on the history of the Red Cross.
A walk in the park
We know the weather in England is a bit unpredictable so we take every opportunity we can to enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasts! This week we took a wonderful walk in the gorgeous surrounds of Farthing Downs.
