Activities at Peony Court Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life by providing regular social and psychological stimulation. The activities can be undertaken in groups or ‘one-to-one’ and are based on individual preferences. We have a varied programme, with the goal of appealing to the interests and capabilities of all residents as best as possible. For example, there's pottery, baking, Scrabble, art classes, exercise sessions and much more. The Activities Coordinators also organise visits from entertainers, local groups, including school choirs, religious services and outings on the minibus.
Paul McKee
Hi! I'm Paul, the Activities Co-Ordinator at Peony Court.
Before I joined the care sector I worked for many years in the hotel industry, managing housekeeping, hospitality and customer experience. Several members of my family have a history of working in care and I thought, maybe that could be me as well. I'm a natural entertainer with a flare for bringing smiles to people's faces and this was absolutely the right move for me.
Here at Peony Court, I make a point of getting to know each and every resident and their families. I tailor the activities program to suit individuals, no one is the same and everyone has different interests. It's my aim to be empathetic, enthusiastic and engaging with all of my residents. We have incredible activities and events here guided by exactly what our residents want, from pampering sessions to singing and dancing, chair exercises to arts and crafts, and diversity is absolutely the key!
I can't wait to welcome more residents and guests to Peony Court!

Life at Peony Court Care Home
World Book Day!
We were delighted to welcome the pupils from Elmhurst School to join us on Zoom for world book day. Today we visited the school and Head Teacher, Sara to thank them so much for their participation with a £50 Book Gift Voucher.
"Peony Puzzlers"
The first outing of the Peony Puzzlers quiz team, supporting Sanderstead and Selsdon Rotary fundraiser for Ukraine was great fun and a huge success. We didn't win, but we weren't last! Onwards and upwards!
Fresh Air!
Addington Heights was the perfect location for the "fresh air and views please" trip requested by our residents. A wonderful venue to take in the amazing scenery and nature our local area has to offer.
Shrove Tuesday
Chef, Anthony was kind enough to treat us to a display of pancake making expertise followed by the introduction to a whole host of amazing home made 5 star sauces and accompliments! Yummy!
Tea at The Court
Yet again our monthly "Tea at the Ritz" style "Tea at the Court" did not disappoint! Residents, families and friends thoroughly enjoyed a premium afternoon in our "5 star" restaurant with "5 star" catering, service and entertainment by a wonderful singer who kindly performed well away from her audience in line with Covid guidelines.
Employee of The Month
Peony Court residents and staff all voted for their employee of the month and Paul won hands down! Not only does he ensure we're all engaged in fulfilling activities and trips etc, but he also jumps in to help in the kitchen, restaurant and house keeping. Thank you so much Paul and well done indeed!
