Activities at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.
It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.

Hi, my name is Vanessa, and I am proud to be the Activities Coordinator here at Reigate Beaumont. My role is not just about planning activities and enhancing the lives of our residents and creating a vibrant, engaging environment for them.
Every day, I strive to ensure that our residents feel valued and included. I organise a variety of activities ranging from arts and crafts to music therapy, and connecting with the local community.
These activities are designed to promote physical health, social interaction, emotional wellbeing. What I love about most is witnessing the joy and connection that these activities bring. With our wonderful staff, families and volunteers is essential in tailoring activities to meet unique needs and desires of each resident. Together, we build a sense of community and belonging.

Life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Garden Ambassador
Tony, is our resident bingo caller and Garden Ambassador at Reigate Beaumont. He is excited about his role and is passionate about gardening and sharing his expertise with fellow residents and their relatives. When he’s not feeding the birds or watering the patio gardens you can find him socialising with residents or hosting our weekly bingo on a Sunday morning. Tony was also a musician in the past and played the drums in a band. Whenever there are musicians entertaining our residents, either guitarists or singers, Tony can be found accompanying them with his percussion instruments.
Barchester Care Awards 2023 - Divisional Winner!
We're so happy to announce that John Page has been crowned Maintenance Champion for the Central Division in the Barchester Care Awards 2023 and is through to the national round of judging.
The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 13,000 residents living in Barchester’s 252 care homes and private hospitals across the country. Categories range from ‘Registered Nurse of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ to ‘Dementia Care Champion’ and ‘Activities Coordinator of the Year’.
60 Years of Married Bliss
One of our lovely couples in our home, celebrated 60 years of marriage. Vivien and Richard met through school and university in Bristol and later on when they both moved to London, they fell in love! Their first ‘child’ together was their beloved corgi dog Sam, but they are fortunate to have two daughters and three grandchildren that reside in Reigate and are always spending time together. Family and staff here at the home all celebrated the couple’s special anniversary together. Head Chef Roman baked a delicious two tier cake for everyone to enjoy. Sharing this momentous anniversary with them is really special. It’s so wonderful to see two people still very much in love after all these years!
101st Birthday Celebrations for our Mary
Celebrations have been in full swing here at our home as one of our residents turned 101 years in style. Mary was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she celebrated this incredible milestone. It was a glorious day to celebrate and everyone enjoyed a special birthday cake made by our home’s Head Chef Roman.
The birthday girl said: “Can you believe it, it’s pretty special, and what a beautiful cake.” As she gave a little giggle. Staff were delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reached this amazing milestone. Mary is such a popular resident who is much loved by all that get to know her. We look forward to sharing many more birthdays with her.
Celebrating with Charities
Residents & staff visited members of the Patchworking Garden Project in Dorking to present them with a £2000 cheque and to celebrate them being awarded a grant. The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community. Isobel Gowan, Chair of Trustees, said “We are so delighted to receive these funds and connect with our local Barchester home. Our volunteers will enjoy making stained glass, choosing their own plants and doing other crafts with this grant”. This charity’s main gardening project is for those living with mental and physical disabilities and the grant was towards craft supplies and plants. Our residents love making new connections within the community.
International Nurses Day
Celebrating nurses and recognising all the hard work and selfless dedication they have in caring for others doesn’t hold boundaries. Especially if you are a retired nurse and your whole career was spent in the pursuit of caring for people in the community. We were so delighted to include three residents in celebrating International Nurses Day with us. They were made to feel just as special as our current nursing staff. Thank you for all your years of dedication to the profession!
