Activities at Ritson Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Ritson Lodge Care Home
Ritson Lodge Donates Food and Clothes to local Food Bank
Residents, loved ones, friends and staff members at Ritson Lodge have marked the beginning of winter by donating food hampers and bags of mixed warm clothes to a local charity.
Food and clothes donations brought in by visitors, staff and residents were gifted to the Great Yarmouth Food Bank, which were very well-received. Residents of Ritson Lodge were presented with a ‘thank you certificate’ in return for the donations.
Open Day Fundraiser
Our Open Day and Fundraiser at Ritson Lodge was a great success. When some of our residents asked to raise money for the local lifeboats, we were delighted to arrange this! During our Open Day we had a talk by one of the local lifeboat representatives, we had a stall full of RNLI goodies as well as a tea party and raffle! Everybody had great fun and it was all for a great cause close to our residents hearts!
We're now rated 'Good'!
Ritson Lodge passed a recent Care Quality Commission inspection with an overall “Good” rating after being praised for a responsive, safe, effective and caring service. The report stated that "People told us that the staff were compassionate, kind and caring towards them. Staff addressed people in an affectionate tone and displayed warmth towards people when they engaged with them. One person commented about their positive relationship with the staff, "We have a laugh. I get on with most of them. Yes, all the staff know me, well I chatter a lot and we just get on." Another person said, "I've been here a number of years and the staff know me very well.
In celebration of the rating and to thank each member of the team for their contributions to the home, each team member was presented with £100 gift voucher in appreciation of their hard work by Divisional Director, Lorna Rose.
Pamela Mauchaza, General Manager at Ritson Lodge Care Home said: “We are delighted that Ritson Lodge was rated ‘Good’ overall following the CQC’s most recent inspection. The team at Ritson Lodge always strive to provide the best possible quality care for everyone who lives at the home.”
24 Hour Charity Bike-a-thon!
Staff and residents at Ritson Lodge have been very busy raising money for the Gorleston Lifeboats. We did a 24 hour static bike-a-thon and everybody got involved!! We were delighted to be joined by a member of the lifeboat team who answered lots of questions and told us many amazing stories.
Make a Wish Come True...
We ask our residents at Ritson Lodge to make a wish - one of our residents hadn't seen her sister for many many years and wanted to reunite with her! We found out where her sister lived and arranged a meeting. Tears were shed as the sisters bonded over memories and photo albums.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
We hosted a great Coffee Morning to raise money for MacMillan. Residents, relatives and friends of Ritson Lodge all got involved by having cakes and coffee - all for a good cause!!
