Activities at Ross Court Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Getting Crafty

Here at Ross Court, our resident’s got busy making cards. Hayley, the activity coordinator, printed off some shadow figures and the residents enjoyed adding the buttons on to create these beautiful cards. We plan to use our new-found skills to raise some money. We will be discussing selling cards in a summer fate, or giving them to charity. We are not too sure yet, but because we all enjoyed this so much, the residents will definately be making more! Watch this space.

Valentines Day at Ross Court

We celebrated Valentine’s day in style. The tables were set with handmade roses and hearts made by our wonderful ladies, sprinkled with a bit love, along with heart shaped sequins. Bill Ramsden, our resident ambassador, enjoyed his Valentine meal. He enjoyed the heart jam tart and cream too. our lovely lady Margaret Thomas was given a handmade rose from Hayley Rogers, our activity coordinator. Margaret asked Hayley to put it in her hair. The meal was enjoyed with romantic music in the background.

Duck Hunt

Residents had a fantastic time today as we held a duck hunt!

Residents couldn't wait for their turn! With some encouragement from each other, and a bit of friendly competition, residents (and staff) were taking aim and firing at our 'ducks'! This was such a great activity, promoting hand-eye coordination, light exercise, and of course, lots of fun and laughter! We can't wait to do this one again soon!

(No ducks were harmed in the playing of this game!)

Getting Musical

Today, residents at Ross Court were making lots of noise with drumsicks! Residents really enjoyed making music with drumsticks on chairs. We played along to the beat of 'Let's Twist Again' This was such a fun, creative activity for the residents, enjoyed by all.

Adorable Puppies visit Ross Court

Today, Eric and Hugo, the gorgeous spaniel cross puppies, came in to visit us at just six weeks old, bringing so much joy into our home with them. Residents loved playing with, and cuddling, the puppies. After lots of fun, the puppies were totally exhausted! The pups were kindly brought in by one of our lovely resident's daughter. We all hope they come back and see us again soon!
