Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home
The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.
Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.
Irene & Leah
Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.
Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.
Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.
Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home
Dave Dawson Returns
We welcomed back well-loved singer, Dave Dawson, on 6th April and, as usual, he got the residents to sing with him on the extra microphone. Residents had a great afternoon; there was so much singing, tapping and clapping along.
Musical Entertainment
On Friday 23rd March, residents from Rothsay Grange enjoyed a afternoon of entertainment from Chico. As always, Chico was able to give us lots of information about the stars who sang the songs he performed.
He sang some Elvis, country music and some jazz songs and residents sang along, clapped their hands and tapped their feet. Activities Coordinator, Irene, even got up and danced along to help residents follow what was happening.
Betsy's Back
The residents of Rothsay Grange welcomed back Betsy as Judy Garland; Betsy sang well-known songs from shows and movies that Judy had been in and she taught as about Judy as the evening went on.
The opening song was 'Yellow Brick Road' from The Wizard of Oz, and she also performed 'I Got Rhythm', 'Good Morning, Good Morning', along with many other songs.
Cosmic Sparkle Returns
Cosmic Sparkle put on a great show once again and, as always, the residents sang and clapped along. It’s always a great afternoon with this much-loved couple.
Cakes and Coconut Ice
The residents of Rothsay Grange have been busy baking cakes and making coconut ice. Once the coconut ice was made, it had to go into the fridge to chill for 2-3 hours, so this gave them some time to ice and eat the cakes and wash them down with a lovely cup of tea.
Mother's Day
Residents from Rothsay Grange were treated to a lovely high tea with crustless sandwiches, biscuits and cakes, all made by the on-site chefs. The Salvation Army came along and played well-known tunes and the residents sang along. A bunch of flowers were given to each resident for Mother’s Day.
