Activities at Seaview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Life at Seaview House Care Home
Beat the Clock
We continue to celebrate a varied life enrichment programme and across our services we linked up with other Barchester care homes and hospitals up and down the country for some interactive Beat the Clock games.
Our residents truly enjoyed solving word puzzles, conundrums and mathematical problems as part of Barchester’s very own game show series.
Everyone who joined had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
London Ladies
As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, Residents from across our services were thrilled to join tour guide, Mandy Morrow, for an exciting talk about some Legendary London Ladies.
Mandy shared the fascinating stories of eight ladies with us, from the one of the richest heiresses in the world to the original 'Roaring Girl'.
Everyone who participated truly enjoyed the experience and were delighted to take a walk down memory lane.
Eyes down for bingo bonzana
Staff and residents joined fellow keen dabbers from over 250 Barchester care homes and hospitals across the whole of the UK, including Wales, Scotland, Jersey and the Isle of Wight, to compete in the biggest game of bingo Barchester has ever seen!
The inaugural Barchester Big Bingo Bonanza took place on 27th February 2024 when Seaview House, got super competitive and took on its sister homes from all over the country to find out which Barchester home or hospital was a dab hand at bingo. It was eyes down for a full house as the homes battled it out to find out who would prevail.
Flower arranging demo
Across our homes we had a fantastic time joining, Kathryn Delve, Master Florist, for a Valentine’s-inspired live virtual flower arranging demonstration. Kathryn shared brilliant and creative ways to decorate our tables with beautiful flowers that are sure to make your heart swoon!
Those participating in this virtual event put their skills to the test and followed along with some amazing creations of their own. Residents truly enjoyed the experience.
Community Spirit
Snow! Snow! & more Snow!! It was lovely for us all to have such a wonderful fall of snow, most we have had in the past 20 years! The residents enjoyed watching the winter wonderland from the windows and the girls making the snowmen they requested! We also have the best community, with Aurora Energy Services – NMS who went round Wick and helped clear the snow where needed. We were delighted they cleared both our car parks so staff, visitors and visiting professionals could get in safely to Seaview.
90th Birthday Celebrations
We do love a celebration at Seaview and this lovely lady Jessie was 90 years young, so her family arranged with staff to have a special tea party with her in our dining room. Jessie was delighted having her family around her and then enjoyed a 2nd day celebrating with this cake and the residents. We are only too happy to arrange family events at Seaview as family connections is important to help maintain.
