Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Get Barchester Moving!

For the Get Barchester Moving our staff and residents using any mobility aids to support them went for a health walk amounting to 3000 steps around Amersham memorial garden enjoy the colours, smells and the encouragement from the community as they waved and clapped our residents and staff supporting the ‘ Get moving’ campaign this week.

Both communities memory lane and residential residents took the opportunity to enjoy the sun and the lovely surroundings.

Our lovely couple of 70 + years marriage held hands as they were assisted around the garden remembering those courting days walking around the same gardens followed by afternoon tea together reminiscing those 70 years.

Sports Day Extravaganza!

The excitement was palpable as residents and staff from Shelburne Lodge Care Home and Chorleywood Beaumont gathered on Saturday for a day of fun and friendly competition at the Annual Sports Day !

From engaging wellbeing activities to thrilling games and races, the day was packed with entertainment and camaraderie. Laughter echoed through the halls as we all came together to participate and support each other in the spirit of sportsmanship.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the delicious buffet of hotdogs, burgers, and homemade treats that fuelled our energy and added to the festive atmosphere.

We would like to send Big Thanks to Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community - Barchester Healthcare for the invitation and hospitality on the day and to Mansukh Chander Physiotherapist and Pedro Bras - Physio assistant for organising this event and made it happen !

D-Day celebrations

Residents and family members at Shelburne Lodge spent yesterday the day remembering and discussing D-Day and World War II.

We spent the day enjoying the lovely cakes freshly baked in our kitchen by Rachel, afternoon tea and we also had a singer which our residents loved to hear and welcome him back.

Garden Centre Trip

The residents of Shelburne Lodge decided to mark the Gardening week by embarking on a trip out to the Garden Centre at Nottcuts in High Wycombe. The residents went out to look for some ideas for the Shelburne garden so that residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the colour and the smell of our new sensory garden and new fresh flowers that we will be planting in the next coming days. The trip was a memorable experience for our residents and they finish their day with a coup of tea and coffee and of course a piece of cake. We cannot wait to show you our new garden soon ! Stay in touch and you shall all see!

Charity Walk

Shelburne Lodge Team's Inspiring Journey: "Walk for Funding Respite for Family Dementia Carers in Bucks" This weekend, our General Manager alongside some members of our dedicated team embarked on a meaningful journey from Chesham Clock Tower to the charity shop : The Hospice of St Francis in Amersham. With each step, we united in support of family dementia carers in Bucks, spreading hope, understanding, and compassion along the way. This sponsored walk was to raise awareness and funding for local charity Dementia Respite Carers Support Group.
