Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

St Patricks Day

Here at Shelburne Lodge we have been busy celebrating St Patricks Day with our residents. The home was decorated with shamrocks and everyone dressed in green to mark the day. Held on March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day actually observes the death of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, but the day has come to be a huge celebration of Irish heritage and culture.

Blue Light Delivery

Here at Shelburne Lodge we have been busy visiting our local professionals with home-made sweet treats. This week our Head Chef, Alex has prepared some fresh scones with cream and jam to present to our local Police team at High Wycombe Station. We are always looking to reward local heroes so keep your eyes peeled for our next donation.

International Women's Day

We have celebrated International Women's Day, here at Shelburne Lodge! We had an amazing day! Our General Manager, Diana and Lifestyle Co-ordinator, Helen went around the home and gave beautiful roses to all woman who visited our Home, our lovely team and residents. It was a great opportunity to celebrate our lovely ladies.

World Book Day

At Shelburne Lodge we have been busy celebrating World Book Day with our local primary school, High Wycombe CofE. In order to celebrate the national day the children visited dressed as their favourite book characters whilst reading a chapter of their favourite books to the residents. Everyone really enjoyed the day.

Flower Arranging

Our residents here at Shelburne Lodge have been enjoying a group flower arranging class. As Spring is just around the corner we thought it was a fantastic idea to start arranging some blooms! Our residents not only enjoy arranging the flowers but also admiring them in our social areas and their bedrooms.

Charity Donation

Here at Shelburne Lodge we would like to say a Big Thank You to Barchester Charity Foundation as they have recently awarded a grant of £500 to The Hairoun Elderly Day Centre in High Wycombe towards activity classes for isolated elderly members of this charity and our General Manager visited the group to present them the cheque.
