Activities at Sycamore Grove Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Lynette Allen
I first worked in the care sector in 2016. I have since gained a wealth of experience in dedicated dementia and residential activities, where I was an Activities Coordinator.
The largest and best part of my role was to ensure my residents were engaged in meaningful activities on a daily basis. I do this by taking into account their life history, their interests, likes and dislikes in order to promote their wellbeing currently and for the future. Liaising with family, friends and members of the community is also part of my role and it offers continuity to the lives of our residents. I love giving people a purpose and enabling our residents to do as much as possible of the things they love to do.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Sycamore Grove Care Home

Lovely news from the knit and natter group!
We're thrilled to share that Sycamore Grove and the WI have joined forces at our knit and natter sessions, and together we've completed two beautiful blankets for residents to enjoy on outings.
These blankets will provide not only warmth but also a touch of comfort and kindness for our residents. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed their time and skills to this wonderful project!

Blooming Brilliant & Stone-tastic at Sycamore Grove!
At Sycamore Grove have been busy bees (or should we say, busy butterflies?) adding a touch of creativity to our beautiful raised beds!
We've been having a blast decorating stones with colorful designs and inspirational messages. These personalized creations now add a pop of personality to our flourishing flowers and vibrant vegetables.
It's been a wonderful activity that's sparked joy, encouraged teamwork, and allowed everyone to express their artistic flair. We can't wait to see our raised beds continue to bloom throughout the summer!

Classic Comedy Capers at Sycamore Grove!
Our residents enjoyed a trip down memory lane this afternoon with a screening of the Marx Brothers' hilarious film, "A Night in Casablanca" at the cinema!
From the iconic Groucho to the zany Harpo and the ever-scheming Chico, the Marx Brothers' slapstick comedy and quick wit had everyone in stitches! Laughter truly is the best medicine, and our residents were certainly feeling the health benefits today.
