Activities at Sycamore Grove Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Lynette Allen
I first worked in the care sector in 2016. I have since gained a wealth of experience in dedicated dementia and residential activities, where I was an Activities Coordinator.
The largest and best part of my role was to ensure my residents were engaged in meaningful activities on a daily basis. I do this by taking into account their life history, their interests, likes and dislikes in order to promote their wellbeing currently and for the future. Liaising with family, friends and members of the community is also part of my role and it offers continuity to the lives of our residents. I love giving people a purpose and enabling our residents to do as much as possible of the things they love to do.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

They say 90 is the new 30, but how about THREE TIMES the magic?!
Celebrating a TRIPLE 90th birthday bash today at Sycamore Grove for these incredible three! It's not every day you get to witness such a momentous occasion.
We're showering them with love, laughter, a delicious buffet, and maybe a few glasses of wine to toast to many more years of wisdom and joy. Here's to you three amazing souls! Here's to 90!

Resident focused meetings
We listen to the people who are in our home.
We regularly hold residents and relatives meetings to make sure we are delivering in all aspects of life with us here. The residents will make suggestions, recommendations and give advice based on their experience with us.
We see feedback as a gift as you never know where you can improve if you never know....
This is one important part of our home that helps keep our activities; resident lead and help them guide us to perfect our person centred care.
This was a great meeting and thank you all who attended.
All eyes down for an afternoon of Bingo!
What a lovely afternoon we all had joining other barchester homes across the UK for a live event Bingo Bananza!
Residents we're ready with their cards and dabbers as the numbers were called out and things got very competitive. We didn't have any winners but the competition was rife in our home and we had great fun playing
Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thank you to family members for coming to join in the fun
Ladies at Lunch
We at Sycamore Grove wanted to put something a little extra into lunch today, so we gave a group of our ladies an extra special private dining experience in our restaurant. We popped a prossecco and the ladies got a chance to spend some private time together
The ladies got dressed up for the occasion and I am sure you will agree they all look stunning.
This went down really well and we will be doing this more regularly as it was requested from them personally.
