Activities at Sycamore Grove Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Lynette Allen
I first worked in the care sector in 2016. I have since gained a wealth of experience in dedicated dementia and residential activities, where I was an Activities Coordinator.
The largest and best part of my role was to ensure my residents were engaged in meaningful activities on a daily basis. I do this by taking into account their life history, their interests, likes and dislikes in order to promote their wellbeing currently and for the future. Liaising with family, friends and members of the community is also part of my role and it offers continuity to the lives of our residents. I love giving people a purpose and enabling our residents to do as much as possible of the things they love to do.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Life at Sycamore Grove Care Home
All eyes down for an afternoon of Bingo!
What a lovely afternoon we all had joining other barchester homes across the UK for a live event Bingo Bananza!
Residents we're ready with their cards and dabbers as the numbers were called out and things got very competitive. We didn't have any winners but the competition was rife in our home and we had great fun playing
Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thank you to family members for coming to join in the fun
Ladies at Lunch
We at Sycamore Grove wanted to put something a little extra into lunch today, so we gave a group of our ladies an extra special private dining experience in our restaurant. We popped a prossecco and the ladies got a chance to spend some private time together
The ladies got dressed up for the occasion and I am sure you will agree they all look stunning.
This went down really well and we will be doing this more regularly as it was requested from them personally.
Spreading Smiles and Sunshine!
The adorable faces from Bluebell Barn Nursery brightened up Sycamore Grove Care Home today! Our residents had a blast playing games, singing songs, and sharing stories with these little bundles of joy. The laughter and smiles were contagious, and it was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved.
