Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Our Wildlife Visit!
Wildline Wildlife Sanctuary provided us with a great experience yesterday afternoon!
We learnt so much about the local wildlife and the work that Julie at the Wildline Wildlife Sanctuary does. We felt truly honoured to be lucky enough to meet two of the beautiful barn owls that live with Julie at the sanctuary, one of which was only 3 weeks old!
Our local wildlife are so lucky to have someone like Julie who really goes above and beyond to do all she can for every animal in her care
Wildline wildlife sanctuary is a charity that is always in need of support, we was able to provide a basket of donated goods as well as an online donation today. Details of how you can support Julie to keep doing her amazing work are on the poster attached

World Bollywood Day
World Bollywood Day!
Sunita from The Indian Experience came along to bring the fun and knowledge of India to us here at Tennyson Wharf
Everyone got the chance to dress in traditional Indian clothing this morning, the Sari's were truly stunning. Residents enjoyed choosing which Sari they wanted to wear and all admired the stunning patterns and details
Once we were all dressed in the Sari's, we then began our lessons in Bollywood dancing. Sunita taught us easy techniques to help us remember the shapes and movements to form along to the traditional Indian music
Such a fun way to meet our cultural needs. A fantastic morning with lots of social interaction, movement and learning
