Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Paula Lourenco
Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.
As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Easter Picture Competition
For our recent Easter Picture competition, we were delighted to receive so many wonderful entries from different local schools, which residents enjoyed seeing displayed in our home!
We have now delivered prizes to the ones with the most voted pictures! Well done everyone, they all looked amazing, you're all very creative!
Thank you to all the schools that entered - great intergenerational activity!
1st year anniversary celebrations!
We celebrated our 1st anniversary!
We marked 1 year anniversary of Tewkesbury Fields Care Home. Back in 2022, we opened our doors on the 21st April after a full home refurbishment. We began to deliver the quality of care, support and fantastic services from that moment on.
We celebrated this day with residents, staff and families. It truly was a fantastic afternoon, full of fun and laughter, reminiscing, listening to the beautiful singing of Nick from Mini Concerts with "Kings of Swing" show, lots of dancing, celebrating with an afternoon tea, plenty of cake and a glass of Prosecco.
It really shows what a positive impact everyone makes in the home to one another, and what a jolly place Tewkesbury Fields is to be! Here's to the future!
Our own minibus is here!
We are very pleased to announce that we have now taken the delivery of our own brand new minibus!
Our General Manager, James Culley said "This is such wonderful news and means that residents will be able to go on more excursions and be able to assist with appointments much easier. We have a number of trained staff who are able to drive and use the tail lift of the minibus. Some of our residents have already started using the minibus and we hope to utilise this great tool as much as possible!"
Crafts workshop at Bushley Village Hall
As the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III preparations begin, we've taken part in the crafts workshop at Bushley Village Hall.
There was such a variety of crafts available to choose from! Panting old tin cans to look like crowns, decoupage large jam jars for nightlights, decoupage bunting and craft grade foil to cut to a template.
Residents loved meeting the local community and as well as getting creative!
Thanks for inviting us, and we can't wait to see you again in more monthly workshops held at the village hall.
Armed Forces Veterans coffee morning
Our Home services advisor, Paula, visited the Armed Forces Veterans coffee morning at Northway Community Hub & Parish Office.
It is a lovely opportunity for the group to meet and enjoy a chat, as well as hot drinks and cakes or biscuits. There is even a raffle each month!
Paula has also taken some invites for our Open day on Saturday, 15th April!
Mini Me!
We've welcomed Sandra from Charmworth miniatures who brought along her collection of miniatures wedding dresses from 1930's through to the 1990's. Each dress has been handmade and detailed by Sandra, accordingly to each decade. A lovely reminiscing activity for our residents. When trying on the apron type wedding dress, one of our residents commented: "I feel wonderful!"
Thanks Sandra for coming along and spend the morning with us, making it so enjoyable and fun.
