Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Golden Rose for the Coronation of King Charles III

For the Coronation of King Charles III, we are having a variety of Coronation activities, events and celebrations throughout the week.
Residents, staff and family members have come together to plant a golden rose to mark the Coronation of King Charles III.
The yellow rose is located in one of the courtyards' raised plant beds at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home;  not only for everyone to enjoy, it's a rose to mark a very special occasion and will contribute to the beautiful gardens in our home!
Thanks Tewkesbury Garden Centre for having such beautiful and great quality plants for special occasions!

A fond farewell to Daisy

Daisy has successfully finished her student placement! We've said a fond farewell to Daisy, as her weekly student placement from University Of Worcester came to an end.

James Culley, General Manager, and Katie Brown, Deputy Manager, commented "We are really proud to be supporting the future nursing workforce. It's very rewarding to see them develop and grow in confidence and skills. It definitely enhances the care we provide!"

The students continue to be an inspiration and all the team and residents at Tewkesbury Fields, wish Daisy every success in the future!

The future is bright! Best of luck at University!

Entertainment by Rob - Pianist

Residents have had a great afternoon entertained by pianist Rob.
Residents truly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere,  listening to beautiful song of the piano, sing-along, clapping,  tapping their feet or just simply listen to the music.

At Tewkesbury Fields, we offer a variety of entertainment to our residents, and we are always looking for different opportunities and events to take place in our home.

"We can't wait to see you again" - residents said!

Quiz with Tewkesbury Rotary Club!

We've welcomed volunteer John from Tewksbury Rotary Club, to run an afternoon quiz!

John had 40 questions ready for our residents with 4 different subjects; Vivienne was the winner of this month by getting 30 correct answers!
We are very pleased to say that, John will be very kindly visiting us once every month, and hold an afternoon quizzes at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home.
Thank you very much once again for your time with all of us, we will be looking forward to see you again each month!

Residents enjoyed doing shopping and a cup of tea at Tewkesbury Garden Centre and Brown's coffee shop; attending the Knit n' Natter club at GL3 Community Hub, Churchdown, and today we visited Gloucester Staverton Airport, where an ice cream and coffee was enjoyed while watching the planes and helicopters.

MP Laurence Robertson visit

We had the pleasure of Politician Mr Laurence Robertson visiting Tewkesbury Fields Care Home.

On Friday, 21st April, we hosted an informal visit from Laurence Robertson MP and his wife, Mrs Anne Robertson.

Laurence enjoyed a tour of our refurnished luxury care home, and a cup tea with the residents and the team. It was a great opportunity for our residents to ask some questions and feel connected to the community.
