Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Visiting Tewkesbury Arts Society

We visited Watson Hall Tewkesbury to find out more about the Tewkesbury Arts & Drama Society weekly meetings.

It was lovely to meet Betty Ellis and Marilyn Brand, who provided all the details if the residents would like to join the workshops or the regular meetings at the Watson Hall.

Paula, our Home services advisor had the opportunity to meet everyone, see each members piece of artwork and to talk about how different and creative they all look!Keep up the amazing and beautiful artwork!

Reminiscing time

On a cold and rainy day, we've kept in the warm and enjoyed looking through lots of newspapers and magazines.

After finding pictures that brought back many memories and meant something to each resident, they then decided to put them together and create an individual meaningful collage.

Celebrating International Women's Day

Home services advisor Paula, distributed chocolates and sweets bags as random acts of kindness along Tewkesbury High Street – visiting shops and customers to wish the women a Happy International Women’s day and make them feel special!

102 years old resident Marion said: “It is amazing to think how much things have changed just in my lifetime, when I was younger there were so many things it was deemed inappropriate for women to do. It is wonderful that women have so many more opportunities these days and days like this are so important to make sure we keep going in the right direction.”

"Come and have dinner - on us"

We've attended to the last "Come and have dinner - on us" at the Tewkesbury Baptist Church Auditorium.
Across 4 dates in January and February, Henry's offered free dinners to Tewkesbury community.
Serenity Harmony local group provided the first half of entertainment with a beautiful singing session, and the second half, our activities coordinator held a 25 questions quiz which involved lots of interaction and audience participation.
Such another lovely event in bringing Tewkesbury community together!
Well done to everyone involved!

Attending coffee morning at Apperley Village Hall

Our Home General Manager James and Home Services Advisor Paula, attended the monthly coffee morning at Apperley Village Hall to find out more about their community events.

Thank you all for the very warm welcome and hospitality. We are very much looking forward to visiting again next month and get to know more about the community.
