Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

A Day Out to Dobbies Garden Centre

Vivian, our resident Ambassador and Nancy went to the new Dobbies Garden Centre today in Tewkesbury. After a good look around and purchasing some lovely gifts, Nancy and Vivian had a spot of lunch at the busy Dobbies Café.  As ever, our brilliant team wants to ensure everyone gets out and about at Tewkesbury Fields, and no trip is too big, or too small!

A little too much chocolate is just about right!

Chocs Away!  Our residents had a creative time with chocolate this week with Tara, from Catering Queen.  Residents and staff joined in to make Belgian chocolate gifts to give to loved ones.  We look forward to welcoming Tara back to make Christmas Hot Chocolate Bombs soon.

Delightful Doris Day!

The fun just never stops here at Tewkesbury Fields.  Our many activities also include evening social events for residents to enjoy. This week we were entertained by Mini Concerts, who provided us with a Doris Day Tribute show!

We sang and danced along the entire evening, and we can't wait to welcome Emily back soon for our Christmas show!

A Breath of Fresh Air

"A breath of fresh air is a great thing to take, and an even better thing to be "

We are so lucky to be surrounded by stunning countryside at Tewkesbury Fields.  Our lovely residents enjoy getting out and about, and Richard and our Activities team had a lovely autumn trip out this week.

Nancy Visits the Biggest Street Fair in the West!

Each year the biggest Mop Fair in the west comes to Tewkesbury and Nancy decided plan a day out around it with Amanda.  Tewkesbury Mop Fair has been running for hundreds of years and is held the second weekend of each October to mark the end of the harvest.

Nancy also visited Tewkesbury Abbey and looked around the stunning grounds, and then enjoyed a country pub lunch - and even fitted in some shopping!
