Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Paula Lourenco

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Paula and I’m the Activities coordinator at Tewkesbury Fields care home. I’ve joined Barchester healthcare in 2020.

As part of the lifestyle enrichment team, I will be organising daily activities, ensuring that residents have varied activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives, creating memories and be able to provide meaningful activities to each one of the residents living at Tewkesbury fields.

Life at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Eyes down, it's Bingo time!

Residents had a great time playing Bingo with the wonderful social care students, Daisy and Niamh. With a bit of healthy competition, residents took part and tried their luck to win some prizes!

Countryside views

We are extremely lucky to be surrounded by stunning countryside views at Tewkesbury Fields. Residents enjoy getting out and about, making the most of the fresh air and the sunshine. As well as walks, admiring flowers, trying to spot the signs of Spring and see the sheep.

Postcards of Kindness scheme

Residents always enjoy reading and replying to the received Postcards of Kindness scheme. We've recently received cards from Aberdeen, Derby and as far as Taiwan! How wonderful! Postcards of kindness encourages people to write and send postcards to residents in care homes, and whilst its a small gesture that brings a great deal of joy, it connects people and brings back many memories to our residents.

Spring is coming!

Residents have been busy the past few months planting bulbs in our hanging baskets and tubs. Richard was delighted to see our first Iris coming through from the bulbs purchased and chosen from our favourite local garden centre; Tewkesbury Garden Centre.

9.8/10 – Another Great Review!

We are super proud of the care we provide to our residents, and so appreciative that this is recognised by the residents themselves and their families.  Thank you so much for this review posted on the UK leading care home review site - Carehome.co.uk

The Beats Go On!

Musical Mersey Beats resounded this week at Tewkesbury Fields, with the welcome return of our favourite Mini Concerts.  Tunes of the 60’s were a delightful step back in time, from Jerry and the Pacemakers to the Beatles, with all our residents enjoying a sing along!
