Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home

Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Life at Threshfield Court Care Home

National Beer Day

At Threshfield Court Care Centre today all of all activities were themed around celebrating “National Beer Day”.  We took our Arts and Crafts project outside which was just so peaceful as we have the most amazing garden and pond area.  The residents were given a small glass of beer and we enjoyed our scratch art templates.

Garden walks

At Threshfield Court Centre today it was just too nice to stay inside.  Being outdoors admiring our beautiful gardens whilst listening to the bird song is such a refreshing activity.  We have a pond in our garden which has black and gold goldfish in it, it is very relaxing watching them rise to the top.  This afternoon we will take some more of our residents out to enjoy the garden whilst the sun is shining.”

Cafe by the Lake

At Threshfield Court Care Centre today we took our mini bus to Café by the Lake where we enjoyed a lovely ice cream. The view was amazing and we were able to watch people fish in the lake. It was such a nice day we then took the mini bus up to Kettlewell Village where we sat by the River Wharfe and enjoyed a cup of tea and a biscuit

First Woman MP

Our homes had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.

Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters.  The talk was truly enjoyed by all.

Carers week

Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.

We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

Creating posies with florist

Our homes had a lovely time joining Sue and Nicole from Ferndown Florist for an intriguing flower arrangement workshop in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful virtual demonstration and got inspired to create their own flower posies for our Jubilee displays.  Our home will be specially decorated for the upcoming festivities. Stay tuned.
