Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home
Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Life at Threshfield Court Care Home
Enjoying the sunshine
We have had some amazing weather the past week here at Threshfield Court, spending time in the garden helps all our minds and bodies relax.
A colourful display
Threshfield Court residents enjoyed a colourful morning in their popular arts and crafts session creating flowers out of crepe paper before sitting back to enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and homemade cake.
Musical mystery tour
Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.
Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.
The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.
BHC Care Awards 2022 - Divisional Winner
We are proud to announce that Ana Pantaleon has been crowned Registered Nurse of the Year for the North Division in this year’s Barchester Care Awards and is through to the national round of judging.
More than 2,950 nominations were received from all Barchester homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Ana is over the moon to have been named the winner for the division, beating hundreds of other nominees.
Our divisional winner, Ana is through to the national finals in which the overall winner is decided. She will join winners from across the UK at a special awards event in October to celebrate their outstanding achievements and discover if they have won a national award. Huge congratulations, well deserved!
Opera performance
Our homes had a fabulous time with the talented soprano Astrid Joos from Street Theatre. Astrid spoke about a selection of famous operas and our residents were treated to performances of wonderful arias from operas well-known to all, such as ‘Giuditta’, ‘Don Giovanni’ and ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’.
It was a lovely experience, truly enjoyed by all.
Keeping the mind active
It is a hot day at Threshfield Court Care Centre today. We are not complaining but are adapting our Activity Program to suit this lovely weather. Today we have had a loving morning doing some relaxing jigsaws and aqua painting whilst listening to a Pan Pipe Mood CD. The music was so popular, that it was the requested listening with our dining experience”.
