Activities at The Warren Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Bush
My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Crafty Monday
Crafty Mondays.....When I presented the ladies with a load of old clean towels and said this is our craft today they look bewildered and confused.

Happy New Year!!
We rung in the new year early while listening to the talented Josh Lee singing. We sung all the favourites and finished with Auld Lang Syne. We then popped open the Bucks Fizz and handed around some mini sausage rolls and some cheese shapes the ladies make yesterday. We then took our "Mobile Bar" to the rooms to wish all residents in their rooms a Happy New year. After, a cheers with all the staff and a thank you for all their hard work throughout the year.

Christmas Market!!
What an absolute fabulous day. A huge thank you to all that came to our First Christmas Craft Market.. The mulled wine was flowing, the mince pies were being munched and the craft stall tills were ringing!! It was such a wonderful atmosphere. Steve Carmel joined us in the afternoon and performed for us and did some fantastic Christmas songs to finish. What a all round wonderful day.

Berts Amazing Creatures!!
Today some of us faced our fears... one lady was scared of rats...here she is facing her fear and having a good old cuddle with one... #proud.
Thanks Bert's Amazing Creatures for bringing your little creatures to see us again, shame they weren't all wearing little Christmas hats like I'd imagined

Wreath Making!!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas the ladies loved making our Christmas Wreath for our front door this morning. We made 3 as we just loved doing them. Watch this space for it in pride of place very soon. More Christmas crafts to follow..we love Christmas here at #TeamWarren and can't wait to kick of the season Friday with our lit up Christmas trees at the front door

Resident Ray awarded Legion d'honneur
We started the day celebrating with Ray, who is our absolute hero. He was awarded a medal, but not just any old medal, the Legion d'honneur which is the highest french award. Only 10 people per year receive this award so for our resident Ray this was something very special.
Surrounded by family, friends, staff and residents the ceremony began. With a speech by Wing Commander Martine Verhulst, the giving of the medal, a poem about the war by Dale the morning was just pride. It was my absolute pleasure to arrange this ceremony for Ray..he's a true gentleman!
