Activities at The Warren Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Bush
My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at The Warren Care Home

Trip out for the Knit and Natter group
After we heard about a 94 year old lady who knitted Sandringham House we just had to go and visit her exhibition. The Knit and Natter group got together and visited the Makers Market in the city. We were all absolutely stunned at the work she had done, we even got to meet the maker ourselves and have a lovely chat with her. We finished off our morning with Fish and Chips as a popular restaurant in the city, after some shopping it was home for tea.

St Georges Day
Handkerchief waving and Afternoon tea was the plan of the day when we invited Holt Ridge Morris to entertain our residents for the day.
The residents loved their day and really enjoyed the dancing and the folk songs played. We all joined in at the end and waved our napkins to show our support. What a wonderful day all round.

Flowers for all on Mother’s day
We had a local resident and her grandchildren deliver flowers to all of our Mothers here at the home. They were each given a single rose by the cute little girl and they loved it. We adore how our community comes together and supports our residents, such a kind and thoughtful thing to do.

Trip out to the Sainsbury Centre for visual Arts
We had a person centred outing to the Sainsbury Centre. The residents we took loved art and therefore was their request to go to our local art collection. We enjoyed lunch at the Café there too as well as a look around the beautiful grounds of the University of East Anglia…Cultural and educational too.

Easter Cake Making & Easter Afternoon tea
We had such fun making and decorating our Easter Cake. Our residents love being able to do what they used to enjoy so much, here is Shirley making a wonderful job of decorating the cake, she said “I used to make cakes with my boys and we loved licking the spoon afterwards, it was their favourite part”. Afterwards we had a Easter Afternoon tea with the loved ones, was so nice to have a really Warren Community Spirit.

Gentleman’s Games Club
Gentleman’s Club started off well with Billiards, Air Hockey, Table Football and Shut the box were played. One residents son joined in and played along with his Dad, they had a great Father and Son afternoon. Next time we will take them to the pub for a pint too maybe.
