Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Urban Jungle visit

What a wonderful trip out we had today.  I took the Gents to Urban Jungle and enjoyed koi, cake and coffee.  They really enjoyed admiring the fish and reminisced about fishing in their younger years.  After looking at the fish, we had cake and coffee and boy was it a nice cake too!!! One resident said it was the best lemon cake he had ever had..now there is a recommendation!! Thank you Urban Jungle for your hospitality. We will return.  We also very nearly accidentally stole a cat too..very friendly and a very handsome kitty indeed.

Burns Night!!

We celebrated Burns night with a bang....we ordered daft hats, bunting, napkins and' of course, flags!!!  Our chef cooked a meal of traditional Haggis, Neeps and Tatties along with Cranachan to finish.  Our resident, Scott's man, joined in with the fun and wore a silly hat with the other gentlemen on the table...I love it that our residents embrace my daftness and join in with silly stuff.

Superb Charlene Jean Vocalist

We were lucky enough to be entertained by the superb Charlene Jean Vocalist.  She made such an impact on the residents.  She dressed in a 1940s army uniform and sung all their favourite Songs.  She was just fantastic.  After she left, all the residents said how good she was and could I book her again.. Little did they know that I knew they would love her and we already had dates in the diary for her to visit again.

Food Bank!!

We were overjoyed to hand over our first food bank donation to Norwich FoodBank.  They were so grateful for the goodies and necessities we brought them.

We are still collecting, so please keep your donations coming as they are gratefully received.

Cuppa for Cancer!

A huge thank you to all that came and supported our Hope for Tomorrow Cuppa for a cancer coffee morning.  We had a fantastic turn out and raised an amazing £82.00 for the cause.

We served freshly brewed coffee, cups of tea in our beautiful vintage China and our head chef, Afua, made a stunning cake and cupcakes to finish. Yum

Visit to the feed

Really wonderful trip out to Waterloo Park Pavilion Cafe - The Feed .  We enjoyed a cup of tea and a gorgeous slice of cake.  It's so good for our residents' wellbeing, being able to get out and enjoy the fresh air and new surroundings with their friends.  These pictures just show how much fun they have. Shame the cake was so delicious. I forgot to take a picture. It was so yummy.
