Our role in the home is fundamental to ensuring that our residents enjoy a fulfilling quality of life. We strive to provide a stimulating, creative & varied range of activities & events in the home, which everyone can enjoy whether they prefer social group engagement or one to one interaction. Residents choice is what we aim to provide to the best of our abilities. We enjoy being creative, sharing projects and discussing with our residents the kind of activities they would like to enjoy. Mother's Day Raffle
We announced the winners of our Mother’s day raffle on Thursday 24 March. A few of our residents joined in the fun and helped us pick out the winning tickets. We had tea and cake in our coffee shop. There was lots of prizes up for grabs but the hamper went to Rupa Johal who was absolutely delighted with it when she came to pick it up, she even sent us a picture of her cat who took a shine to it also. We managed to raise £183 FOR Dementia UK.
St Patrick's Day
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day in style. The residents had been preparing for about a week, making lovely decorations during their art and crafts sessions. They decorated the home beautifully and where very proud of their work.
We had entertainment from Debbie Watts, who was great, she had the staff and residents up on their feet, they even had ago at the Irish jig! The menu of the day was Irish stew and for dessert green jelly with ice cream, which went down a treat.
Everyone was able to wear green for £1, to raise funds for Dementia UK.
It was a great day enjoyed by all.
Comic Relief Day
The residents took part in creating some red noses on their own by painting, colouring or sticking different materials to their paper noses. The activity was truly enjoyed by all. The staff would also tell them a few jokes. In support of Red Nose Day's initiative, everyone was able to wear red for £1 contribution.
This really brightened up the home and everybody had a barrel of laughs.
Fundraising for Dementia UK

It was a great day, enjoyed by all.
Community Kindness
Zelda is popularly known as DJ Zel. She has been featured on numerous media outlets and is an ambassador for Newham Music and Young Health champion. Recently she donated food items to families at Sphere Support Newham. She is a multi-award winning radio presenter, young philanthropist, entrepreneur and CEO of DJ Zel natural Shea butter products range. DJ Zel also launched her 11 for 11 campaign (turned age 11 so wanted to raise £11,000) last year to raise funds to tackle food and education poverty in Newham and some of the poorest communities in the UK.
DJ Zel wanted to donate 10 hampers of her natural hair products range to show her appreciation to the staff at our home for our hard work. The products have been approved by cosmetics assessments reports in the UK & EU.
DJ Zel and her family visited the home recently and DJ Zel said: ''I walk past this home on my way to shopping in Stratford and always thought it looked rather nice, so I did my research and thought I would like to show my appreciation and thank the staff for all their hard work during the pandemic. So would like to donate 10 hampers with my products.”
We couldn’t thank DJ Zel enough for her kind generosity and thinking of us.
