Activities at Wheatlands Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Wheatlands Care Home
VE Day
Residents and staff enjoyed VE Day celebrations with a street style party with a delicious buffet. Staff dress up for the occasion. There were lots a wartime stories shared!
Heroes of 2020
During this difficult time, we have been spreading some love and sharing some kind thoughts around us about the essential workers, the heroes of 2020. Residents have been busy making pom poms, which have been shared by staff during their daily exercise. It has been great to reach out to people to let them know we care.
Rocking Lockdown
Residents have been busy keeping fit and enjoyed joining in every Wednesday when we rock lockdown.
Messages of Kindness
We have been overwhelmed by the love and support off the community and local schools with pictures cards and letters.
World Book Week
Residents enjoyed a trip to our local primary school to read to pre-school children in aid of World Book Week. Everyone had lots of fun!
Horsin' Around
Residents enjoyed a trip to our local horse riding centre to see some show jumping, and got to meet horses afterwards
