Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Shayla Sharmeen
Hi my name is Shayla and I'm the activities coordinator here at White Lodge.
Prior to taking the position, I joined White Lodge as care assistant in 2022 and loved every minute of my role. My passion is very much in supporting the day to day lives of the people we care for, it is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining White Lodge that will make for an enriched activities program to be developed, one that keeps them at the heart of the local community. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at White Lodge Care Home

Bringing generations together
Students from Longleaze Primary School visited us to get Easter celebrations off to a flying start! Residents and children took part in Easter Egg Painting before tucking into some chocolatey treats. Thank you so much for coming and have a great Easter Holiday Longleaze!

Our mobile library swings by...
We love our monthly visit from the local Mobile Library. Residents get to climb on board and take in the huge variety of books to choose from, before deciding which ones to check out for April. See you again in a few weeks time!

Come rain or shine
With the weather not making its mind up in recent weeks, we decided that nothing would stop us getting out and about not even a bit of a rain... Fresh air is important to all of us as we all take time to get our gardens ready for the better weather (hopefully). Our life enrichment programme at White Lodge ensures a healthy balance of indoor and outdoor engagement for our residents. Come along and see what we get up to..

Grafting in the Garden
We have been busy grafting in the gardens and getting our bird feeders ready for Spring. Our beautiful surroundings deserve the best quality in food for our little visitors, so the residents have worked together with the team to provide plenty of choice and options throughout the outdoor spaces we have! Followed by a well deserved hot tea and cake break for our workers.

Food, Drinks and Memories
Residents and families joined forces with the Swindon Veterans Group at the Strawberry Thief to enjoy fine food and dining whilst reminiscing over memories and times once shared before. We love taking our residents out in the community and thank you to those that joined us. Cant wait to do it again soon!

Line Of Duty at White Lodge
Our residents and staff were "found guilty" of having a fantastic afternoon with Mo and Kelly from our local PCSO team. Residents were treated to an afternoon of questioning, fun facts and checking out some of the daily equipment used by the local PCSO's before being taken away for further investigation...... We cant wait to see you both again soon and thank you so much for visiting us here at White Lodge.
